Cloud 9 Living

World Class Experience Gifts

Passage to Adventure

Some might be seeking clarity, others might be seeking g-force. No matter the mission, Cloud 9 Living has an experience to match.

Co-founder Adam Michaels and the team at Cloud 9 Living have done the legwork to find 1,700 activities across the U.S. that make for unforgettable gifts. You can send a friend bungee jumping or to ninja school, or have them ride shotgun in a race car. If you’re looking for something less physically challenging, you could choose a food tour, private DJ lessons or pottery classes. Or maybe you
know someone who longs to star in a movie, play poker with pro Jamie Gold, or pull off a perfect crime? Cloud 9 Living offers so many experiences that the hardest part might be deciding which one to choose.

The idea for the company started with a wedding present for a couple who had just moved to southern California. Adam and a friend decided to give the new-to-California newlyweds surfing lessons, and their gift was a huge hit. Now anyone can give an adventure like that, and Cloud 9 Living handles the logistics so it’s easy on the gift-giver and recipient. And the experiences are more affordable than you might think — prices start around $50 and there are plenty of options under $200. Life is about our stories, and this is a great way to add a chapter of adventure, drama and fantasy to the lives of people you care about.

I am very excited the Daily Grommet has chosen to feature Cloud 9 Living today. We founded Cloud 9 because we truly believe experiences make people happier than material possessions and lead to more meaningful and fulfilling lives. Adam, What are some of the most unusual, or just plain odd, experiences people have suggested they'd like to have? What are some of the most popular experiences? And....do women and men ask for different types of experiences?

What a cool gift idea! I know I'm a difficult person to buy gifts for and I would love this. The gift certificate part is nice, but what is really cool is the research that's gone into all the different things you can do with it. I'm an adrenaline junkie and I'm always looking for the next fun thing to do.

Great question. Most popular expereinces are Stock Car Racing, Dinner Cruises, Hot Air Ballon Rides and Indoor Skydiving. Some unique suggestions have included: Zoo Keeper for a Day, Perfume Making, Harp Lessons and Pole Dancing. Men all seem to want to drive fast cars! Women tend to offer more insighful suggetions!!

Thanks Chris! We definitely have some exciting experiences! I would put Bungee Jumping, Fighter Pilot for a Day and Night Vision White Water Rafting at the top of that list.

For Chris, there is also swimming with great white sharks, private trapeze lessons, train to be a ninja -- or snow kiting! Trust me, there are a number of things you probably haven't thought of or considered for yourself. . .

Are there any experiences that are particularly suitable and popular for teens?

Most of our experiences are suitable for teenagers so it really just depends on their individual interests. I would say our Stock Car ride along is very popular for teenage boys. Other ideas might be sailing lessons, photography lessons, paintball, horseback riding or surfing lessons. Check your region on our site for even more ideas!
