COOKOO

Connected Watch

Watch This

Does this scenario sound familiar? You’re sitting in a restaurant or at a meeting, wishing you could peek at your iPhone, but you don’t want to dig it out of a purse or briefcase. Or your iPhone is out of earshot, charging in another room. You might be worrying that you missed a call because you couldn’t hear the phone ring, or wondering if someone sent you a message on Facebook.

If you’ve ever wished you could easily and discretely view your mobile alerts and notifications, the COOKOO watch has you covered. Even if you
can’t see your iPhone or iPad, the COOKOO watch knows what’s going on. It works like a traditional analog watch that tells time -- and it does a lot more.

Conceived by CTO Peter Hauser, who was fascinated by his grandmother’s cuckoo clocks, the COOKOO watch can alert you when there’s an event happening on your Bluetooth 4.0 (Smart Ready) iOS5 and iOS6 device* including: incoming calls, missed calls, appointment reminders, and Facebook messages and posts. You can control what kinds of events you want to be alerted to, and how you want to be notified -- by icon, beep or vibration. A wireless camera-trigger feature lets you use the Cookoo watch to take a picture with your mobile device’s camera. The COOKOO watch will also tell you when your smartphone is out of range, or if your iOS device’s battery is running low and needs to be charged.

As a wearable extension of your smartphone, the COOKOO watch lets you stay connected without picking up the phone.

It would be nice if we could hear the video. I had the same problem with the video yesterday...

    Hi Christinia,

We aren't aware of any sound issues on our end. Have you tried to refresh your page?

It would be nice if this watch could also answer calls via bluetooth. I hate wearing an earpiece all day; and my smartphone is always tucked into my jeans pocket nearly impossible to get too in time whenever the phone is ringing or is missed entirely.

@ Dennis Hi Dennis, we totally understand your dilemma. While the COOKOO is connected to your smart phone, it's more of a connected phone than a smart phone that can make calls.

How far away from your phone can this be? Is it waterproof?

@paula kress Hi Paula, The watch is water resistant, not waterproof. It's been tested at 5 ATM which means you should be fine showering with it and swimming in shallow water. Submerging the watch in water is not recommended.

    Hi Paula,

To answer your question about how far the phone needs to be. It needs to stay within Bluetooth range which can vary between 50 - 100 ft. It's recommended to stay within the same room.

@ Michael It is pretty huge but that is honestly a good look right now--so it's deliberate. I looked at the watch on men and women. Fine for men. Fine for most women. Some small boned women would find it too massive unless they want that as a style statement.

Will an Android compatible version be coming out in the near future? if it runs off Bluetooth i do not see why it would be difficult to have a droid compatible version.

I would have liked to see the face of the watch in action. It's an interesting concept.

How much detail does it offer on calls or texts? Does it just let you know that one has come in or does it tell you the caller/sender?

    @ cd1600

    Hi there,

The watch details that you've received a text or a call but doesn't offer other information. You can customize notifications so that you know it's a call vs. a text, but not who it is from.

That's a shame it only works with I-phones. Any plans for Android?
