Cell Phone Storage Case

Multipurpose Minimalism

Some days you just don’t feel like lugging a big purse. For those times you want to travel light, Linda Connolly created an iPhone case with secure storage for the essentials -- ID, credit cards and cash. There’s a wristlet strap for hands-free carrying and a built-in mirror to check your reflection.

Linda came up with the idea after a trip to Mexico, where she wanted to carry the bare minimum and didn’t want to be weighed
down by a big bag. She set out to create a hinged phone case with space for everything you need when you’re running errands, grabbing coffee, or walking around town. That goal inspired the product name: eyn, which is pronounced “n” and stands for “everything you need.”

Eyn is streamlined and stylish, and it holds your essentials without putting them on display. It’s a minimalist solution for maximum efficiency.

I'm on my second of these cases. I LOVE mine. Dropped the first one a time or two too many, and like a good case, it broke the case instead of the phone. So, I bought another one. :)

How does the proximity of the phone affect the mag strip on credit cards, hotel room keys, and so forth? My iPhone has disabled the strips in the part whenever they're just in the same pocket within a purse?

This is an important question and I'm sure other's will likely want to know the answer. We are almost certain this will not affect the magnetic strip, but Linda wil be along shortly to confirm. Definitive answer in a moment.

    Hi Teri,

The case only fits the iPhone 4, 4S and 5, although we are looking into making the case for other styles of phones. And even though the measurements of the eyn case are very close to your phone, it needs to be exact to make sure the phone fits snug inside because protecting the phone is our #1 concern!!!

This sounds like my perfect solution for school drop off and pickup. All I need is my phone AND my card key for the locked school doors.

    1. Will a card key fit into the case? It is a typical door card key exactly the same size and thickness as office door card keys. So thicker than a credit card.

    2. Will carrying a card key next to my phone interfere with the phone or the card key?

    Thank you!

  • Linda
    Linda – Special Guest
    4/12/2013 2:23 PM

Hi Lindsey, we also see the eyn case as the perfect solution for carrying just your necessities. The case fits up to three credit card, so the school card should definitely fit. And we have never had a problem with carrying a credit card or hotel room key (which I'm guessing is similar to your school card key) next to the phone... it does not affect it in any way!!

    Hi Marcia,

You are right! This took some research. You would think Apple would make an easier way to find what version you own. It looks like the 3G versions had rounded, curved backs. The newer versions of 4 and up have a flat, square back cover. Does that help?

  • MARCIA

    @Amy Bernstein

    We're getting there, Amy ....

the back is completely flat, but the corners are rounded.

Oh, wait .... I just turned it on to go back to setting, and at the top it briefly said "Verizon 3G".

So I guess that means this case won't fit, right?

I have one of these and it is divine! I get all kinds of comments and questions as to what it will carry, who makes it, etc. I carry my driver's license, a credit card and, the thing that sets this apart from other "pocket" cases, some cash. I've never had a problem with the magnetic strips on the cc. It is a wonderful solution to want to go light. I love all the colors that are now available. Leave it to Daily Grommet to hit another home run with a great choice.

I second this idea. I have a Galaxy S3 and would be interested too. I would not carry more than one credit card in it for safety, but then I usually only have one in my wallet as well. I worry about hotel entry cards. The hotels always tell you not to carry them with phones.

  • Jess

This scares me! If a thief steals your phone, or thinks they are stealing your phone, they will be getting a lot more than just your phone! Or if you lose it, you're also losing a lot more valuable items than just a phone. Your identity could be taken away in a flash.

  • Amy
    Amy – Grommet Team
    4/12/2013 10:26 PM

    @ Jess

    Hi Jess,

Yes, this is a possibility yet we see it as more of a valuable problem solver than a risk since the chance of your phone being lost or stolen is low.

Also - typically it's more likely that your wallet would be stolen than your phone. So if you have your wallet stolen for some reason, you could have saved important cards and things by keeping them in your phone case.
