Pedipack

Personal Mani/Pedi Set

Pedi Protection

There’s one surefire way to ruin a relaxing pedicure – start thinking about the potentially unsanitary tools being used to pamper your toes. How can you be sure if a salon is following the appropriate hygiene and sanitary procedures?

Longtime friends Susie Stoker, Jan Whelan and Christy Ferrence (L-R) know all about that concern. Susie and Christy spent 25 years in the salon business, and Jan understands the importance of clean tools having worked as a dental professional. Together they devised an easy-carry pack that
has all the tools you need for a great manicure and pedicure, including professional-quality nippers and sanitizing tabs for the foot basin. If you bring your own tools to your next appointment, you won’t have to worry about whether the salon’s tools have been properly sanitized. You’re in control.

We asked our own salon technicians how they would feel if we brought along our own tools and got only positive feedback. After all, no one wants sanitary concerns to keep people from scheduling an appointment. And once you’re there, you can sit back and enjoy the worry-free pampering.

I have had the PediPack for over a year & gave one to my daughter! It is stylish & convenient to carry to any salon for a pedi & mani! No worries about infection or who the instruments have been used on before me! I highly recommend the PediPack to anyone who wants to enjoy their pedis & manis without the fear of contamination!

@Barbara: Triclosan is an anti bacterial and anti-fungal agent. It is a polychloro phenixy phenol. Which are a group of ORGANIC polyhalogenated compounds. The particular dioxin formed in 2003 by Arnold and Mcneill is found to be NON-TOXIC. It's also found in things such as hand soap and tooth paste. We feel this is the best way to fight against 99% harmful bacteria. Thank you

I have a pedipack and love it. I take it with me every time I get a pedicure & I also use it at home. It has everything right in the pack. The material they use is beautiful so you can pick these gorgeous designs for gifts all year round.

I can't really tell if one is included, but are you aware that the use of razors in pedicures, at least in Illinois, is very illegal. Nail techs can lose their licenses. Has nothing to do with sanitation. So if you love your nail tech, leave the razor at home!

  • Christy

@Susan: Yes susan Callous remover blades or Credo blades are illegal to use in a salon by a nail tech in some states, but not all states and other parts of the world. So yes you can leave them out if this is the case. Not everyone uses them, but for some it's a must. We actually chose a mild blade so if you are experienced with them they are fine to use at home. Thanks

Wow! What a great idea! I'm one of the unfortunate ones that is now paying for the laser treatment for my toenails due to an unsanitary pedicure giving me toenail fungus. This is the only way I would ever go to get a pedicure again. Awesome!

@Lori: Wow Lori so sorry to here about your toenail fungus. Unfortunately we hear stories like this everyday. Now you don't have to give up on pretty toes. The Pedipack will provide you with peace of mind. Not one implement that is not your own should ever touch your feet again, and the San-Tab in the water is added protection. Thanks for sharing your story.

@Lori: great idea. wish I would have thought of that before I already got an unsafe manicure and have had fingernail and toe nail fungus. How do you get rid of it? I have tried battling it the natural way and it has kept it at bay but still a problem.

@Kathy: Sorry to hear about your fungus also. If you have tried home remedies such as treating it with bleach and soaking in vinegar etc. Than usually the next step is consulting your physician. This is such an ongoing problem which is EXACTLY why we developed the Pedipack. Good luck

What a perfect idea! I used to get "quick, inexpensive" pedicures at least once a month, but had 3 friends aquire either staph or fungus in the course of one year!! I'll be getting one for myself for sure and what a great gift idea for my girlfriends!!

    Well done, Pedipack!

I was hair and nail tech for 40 years. This was before the big nail boom.

I never had a client get any kind of infection or injury.

Dropping a tablet in water is not going to really clean . You must first wash with hot water, then immerse instruments in sterilizing solution for at least 20min. Or in a sterilizing

cabinet for a set time. Also I do not feel $8 is going to provide high quality instruments for use.

@majeral78666: Actually dropping a Triclosan tablet into the water and DOES sanitize the water as well as the basin. The basins are supposed to be properly cleaned and sterilized before each client, but in case this isn't done properly the Triclosan tablet will protect you. You are right $8 would not provide high quality implements that is why the Pedipack is $45. We have been cosmetologists for a combined 40 years and understand proper sterilization techniques, as well as all 11 implements it takes to get a proper pedicure/manicure which is what we provide in the Pedipacks. State Boards of Cosmetology across the country now require much more intense sterilizing than 20 min in a sterilizing solution as you stated which was the case in the past. The new sterilizing practices are much more intense which is why they sometimes aren't being followed through on properly. Even more reason to ensure your safety and bring in your own implements. Thank you- Christy- Owner

What a great idea!! I am a germaphob and love to get pedicures and often wonder if things are sterilized properly. I have even freaked out about that pumice stone thing you talked about in the video wondering how on earth they get all the dead skin out of it.. GROSS!!!! I am so excited to have heard about you and can't order one fast enough..

@Mel: Mel Exactly Pumi stones are porous, they cannot be properly sterilized and they are primarily rectangle in shape... but how many times have we gotten pedicures and the pumi stone is in the shape of an hour glass or rounded? They have been used time after time. My partner Jan calls me a germaphobe also, which is why we thought of EVERYTHING in the Pedipack right down to your own toe separators. Thanks,

Christy fellow Germaphobe and owner of Pedipack.

I am thrilled to see the Pedipack featured on the Daily Grommet! I love them both, the Pedipack and the Daily Grommet! I have purchased at least 10 Pedipacks over the past two years. I love to give them out as gifts to my children's teachers and to friends of mine who are celebrating a birthday or wedding shower. I have two in my closet right now, waiting to be given out as gifts. I have also combined the Pedipack with a gift certificate to my favorite nail salon for an extra special gift. In my opinion, the quality of the products used in the Pedipack is even better than the tools that most nail technicians use. The fabrics are beautiful and appear to be made by hand. I really do love them! And they make a very impressive gift! Keep up the good work ladies!

True story. I was very delayed on a flight yesterday and sprung for an airport pedicure to calm my nerves about the delay (odd, I know). I never had an airport pedicure in my life. I saw first-hand the "communal tools" the technician used, and I was so wishing the Discovery Team at Grommet had already launched the PediPack so I could have one with me. I was really grossed out. Then an hour later we went live with this story...

I wish I could say that I love the Pedipack but the order I placed through Grommet has yet to be fulfilled (after 3 weeks) and only because of my constant pestering of Grommet's customer service team have I been able to get any info at all. This was a gift for someone whom I told to look out for it and I am horribly embarrassed. Unfortunately, I would never recommend anyone to do business with Pedipack which is sad because I think the product is great. Dismal customer service from the company is inexcusable however.

@Marny J: We have learned that there was a fire and Pedipack lost all of their inventory except for their black and white zebra print. They are working hard to get back up to speed. We are sorry for the embarrassment this has caused you with your friend. It sounds like you have been in touch with someone from our customer support team, but I will make sure they reach back out to you and confirm the new expected delivery time.

    @Katherine Klinger:

yes, I just learned of the fire as well today. Wish I'd known before I got so darn angry at them! YOUR customer service is THE BEST I've ever dealt with. Truly. Pedi people should have notififed all of their vendors though. Avoiding bad situation......
