Great item and wonderful results

7/14/2014 by David for Handcrafted Leather Strop

I was not sure if this would do the trick but with the high cost of razors I was thinking, "Why Not"! Well it has worked better than I thought. With the expensive Schick Quattro I'm getting double the life out of my blades, about 8 shaves. It worked so well on the expensive ones that I decided to try it on some cheap disposables from the $1 store. 4 twin blade disposables for a $1. Usually these are only good for one shave, if that, but I was able to use the Razor Renew and get 2 shaves from each so that took my cost per shave for blades to $.13 cents per shave. Definitely a 5 rating!

So far, so good.

Simply put this works as advertised. I use the Gillette Fusion Pro-glide, and this works great. I have gotten nearly a month of quality shaving on the same blade. I usually get about a week. I've never gotten a month with any razor ever. With the prices of razors as high as they are, a purchase like this is a no brainer. You can't go wrong with this purchase. I highly recommend it.

How did I live without this?

This product is amazing. It made the disposable razor sharper the second use than it was on the first.

Wow! Super easy to use and works better than great. A money saver and I'm really glad to have it.

Thanks for putting this out there.

I didn't know this could be done, I don't know how I lived without this all my life, i'll save hundreds on blades; better prices from grommet than Amazon.

Love It!

Razor Renew - Sharpening Tool

About Razor Renew

Look Sharp

John Mecham was tired of spending money on pricey disposable razors. In his quest for a better option, he invented Razor Renew, a leather tool that manually sharpens and polishes not just razor blades but also knives, scissors and other cutting instruments.

John’s tool is similar to the leather strops that old-school barbers use to sharpen straight edge razors. In the same way, Razor Renew can smooth the burrs and scratches on a disposable razor, bringing it back to like-new sharpness. What’s different is the material. John found that cowhide, which is great for straight edges, is too harsh
for thin razor blades. He experimented with different leathers and different designs before settling on a two-sided combination: a suede side to sharpen and hone the metal, and a smooth leather side to smooth and polish. The short version is for blades less than 3 inches long, and the long version works with larger knives, scissors and other blades.

If you’re looking to get more use out of disposable razors, or you want a DIY tool to maintain your knives and scissors, Razor Renew is a handy solution. It’s made in the U.S., and it’s designed to last a lifetime if you care for it properly. John wouldn’t have it any other way.
