Pocket Photo Albums in a Flash

You know the drill—you’re always taking pictures, but then what? Maybe they make it onto your hard drive once in a while. But ordering prints, or assembling albums? Sure, you’ll get right on that…somewhere in between work, soccer practice, laundry, and dinner. Meanwhile, the grandparents are complaining they can’t remember what the kids look like, and your wallet sports a single, crumpled baby picture. Zoom Albums are the professional-looking, pocket-sized albums you create yourself, at home, that will have everyone asking where you got them. (We’ve got Rachel Shechtman at Cube Ventures to thank for introducing us to the product!) Each kit includes the Creator Software CD, which lets you simply drag and drop the photos you’d like to use, and enough supplies to create three albums. The patented photo pages work with your regular ink jet printer; simply print twelve photos on a single sheet, fold along the score lines, and remove the adhesive backing as directed to assemble the finished product. Each completed 3” x 3” book is a mini masterpiece, filled with memories and ready for display or gift-giving. Best of all, you can whip one up in less time than it takes to send a postcard.

Hi, everyone! The folks here at ZoomAlbum are delighted that our pocket-sized photo albums are today's featured Grommet! ZoomAlbums make it easy to memorialize all those incredible photos -- just catching "dust" on your pc. ZoomAlbums are small albums you can make quickly yourself by using some provided materials with your own PC. You simply choose your photos, print your pages, and assemble your album -- we provide everything you need but the photos! The books are 3x3 in size and make a perfect gift for any occasion...weddings, sporting events, kid events, pets, vacations (to name a few). I look forward to reading your comments and will be checking in to answer your questions.

I just have to cheer for Zoom Album and for Ellen Marden too! What a great fun product for gifts for loved ones and friends. We made zoom albums after our Startup Princess Retreat in 2008 for attendees of photos from the event and sent them as memory gifts, everyone loved them and I continue to enjoy mine as a reminder of the special time we all had together. I look forward to making some with my children this summer, I'd like to make one for my son's teacher as a thank you. The software is very easy to use, by the way...no fear, zoom albums are great all around!

Kelly, what a great idea to use these as an event souvenir! I love things that allow me to feature my pictures in a new and unique way, so this is a fabulous find. I think there is an origami artist in the making who figured out how a simple folding technique could make something take on a new dimension.

I love this Grommet. Katherine in her comment talks about wanting to feature her pictures in a new and unique way. Well, I'm thinking that this 3 inch by 3 inch form factor actually has a "retro" feel because it reminds me of when I was a kid, Kodak would give you your vacation photos in this form factor (with a sort of spiral binding.) It was such an easy way to share trip photos (certainly easier than the "family slide shows" that were so popular back then.) Today we can still use that ease vs. "on PC" photos which are more like the dreaded slide show. Zoom Album looks like a brilliant idea.

Hey! I don't see a good picture of a zoom album that is all made and ready to pick up and look at - you know, like Nancy's album about skiing. They are so attractive - that everyone picks them up and looks at them when they are sitting out where they can be seen. Have fun today! G.N.

I am interested in the little photo albums but not sure if the hard surface album comes with the paper kit or does the kit contain just the pages? It was unclear to me so sorry I am having to inquire. The picture shows the little hard cover album.

Kelly - I still have my Startup Princess ZoomAlbum too. I love looking my shelf in my office where I have a little library of them.

Katherine - You are right! The inventor is Japanese...thus the origami fold. Thanks for your comments and the great video :).

Alan - ZoomAlbum is totally fun for kids (and adults, of course). My kids sit by the printer and wait for the pages to print so they can fold!

Des - I forgot all about those Kodak spiral bound books. The "pocket-sized" nature of ZoomAlbum adds to the intrigue and make them so easy to bring with you everywhere!

Granny Nanny - People can't help but pic them up and flip through them when a ZoomAlbum is sitting on the table. Thanks for commenting here!

Carolyn - the kit comes with the paper and the covers. There is a solid color cover version that comes with covers already assembled that you can leave plain or add embellishments and there is a photo cover that you print yourself and attach to a cardboard template that is included. So you get everything you need to make complete books :)

What a FANTASTIC product. I'm a professional sports photographer and I have been using this product for over 4 years. I'll go out to shoot a job, come back to my office, download the photos, make a quick book, and drop it in the mail. My client recieves the book the next day, and is totally blown away. I shoot for the Jacksonville Jaguars(NFL). I'll shoot the game, go into the press room at half time, create a book, and have it ready to give to the Quarterback as he's leaving the field at the end of the game. As you can see, weather you're a point and shoot photographer or a professional, you can have a lot of fun with this product, and I have.

I haven't even purchased the item yet but I am 'stoked!' Reading the comments, I became inspired to create Zoom Albums as part of the thank you for sponsors of a non-profit fundraiser this spring. Sure, they will get the requisite certificate or plaque, but THIS will get us remembered by them because it will be more of a heart felt thank you. Also sent the link to my daughter, hinting that these would be great gifts through the year for the family! Can hardly wait to get started.....guess I better go order a set now!
