Hi, everyone! As the third generation of my family to be in the shoe business, I've traveled to India for many years importing all kinds of traditional Indian footwear, particularly the simple leather thong sandals that India is known for. In my travels there I discovered a unique open air village market where beautiful, intricately-patterned and colorful old Saris are sold, usually to be recycled into various handcrafts, such as pillow covers, bohemian dresses, and the like.

This was the inspiration for Tia's Freestyle sandals . We select the prettiest old Saris and give them a new life by "up-cycling" them into super limited-edition, interchangeable sandal straps. "Freestyle" means that not only are the sandal straps interchangeable, but also they can be tied in many different ways to suit your mood and personal style. All sandals come with printed instructions on how to tie the straps, and there are video demos on the site as well. Tia's recycled Sari straps are inexpensive and available in a huge assortment of designs and colors, making Tia's gentle on your pocketbook as well as on the planet.

I look forward to reading your comments and will be checking in to answer your questions. Thanks!

For all the girls out there looking for a unique, comfortable sandal this summer, you will have to check these out! I love how I can pick the colors I want from the silk Saris. I have gotten a couple of compliments on them and was even asked if I made them myself -- I guess I did!

These are brilliant! One pair of sandals becomes an infinite number of pairs of sandals by changing either the fabric or the way it is tied up. And it's nice to see the Saris recycled too. Great looking Grommet. Great gift idea!!
