A Sweet Innovation

Love real honey but not the sticky mess? We were in the same bind until we discovered these sweet honey drops. Food lovers know honey can be a healthier alternative to sugar in your tea or coffee. It’s rich in antioxidants and works great as a gentle digestive aid and natural energy supplement. But it’s tough to coax out of the container when it crystallizes, and you can’t exactly tote around a dollop of pure honey when you’re on the go (many prepackaged honey sticks contain artificial sweeteners and binding ingredients). John Rowe found out just how hard it is to travel with liquid honey when he packed a jar for a camping trip in the mountains of British Columbia – only to find a broken jar and honey all over his gear when he arrived at camp. After traveling around the world looking for pure honey that wasn’t messy, John came up with his own tidy solution to the sticky problem. His company, Island Abbey Foods, created Honibe Honey Drops. They’re made from 100% pure dried honey from Prince Edward Island, where the sixth-generation family business is run. The honeycomb-shaped drops contain no additives or preservatives. We’re offering two flavors — plain honey or honey with real lemon – that are all set to be dropped into your favorite hot beverage. The drops also work great as lozenges if you’ve got a sore throat, or for a quick energy boost during workouts. Just unwrap and enjoy the sweetness.

It is amazing to me that someone didn't come up with this product - CENTURIES ago! It is such a simple solution to an everyday annoyance.

When I first saw this product, my mind went in a different direction, though. Two years ago, when cough and cold medicines for kids were being pulled from the shelves, a study came out saying that honey was just as or more effective at relieving symptoms than cough medicine anyway. I searched for a product like yours but I couldn't find one! This would be a great natural remedy to have for a cough or sore throat.

@Karen Humor is a good thing. I like yours. Well if someone ate THAT much honey, and used Honibe for every use (even home) you'd be approaching a spendthrift level for sure. It seems a reasonable solution, even price-wise, for the on-the-go situations.

These are also great for kids with sore throats who are too young for cough syrup! My kids love to suck on these, and there is no mess.
