Ever Bamboo

Natural Deodorizer + Dehumidifier

Nature's Deodorizer + Dehumidifier

Ever Bamboo charcoal sachets are an all-natural, eco-friendly deodorizer. Bamboo charcoal has an incredibly porous structure that absorbs odors and moisture. It also deters moths, prevents mold buildup, and keeps linens and clothing fresh. Use the sachets in pet areas, basements, closets, lockers, gym bags, shoes, boots, helmets and more.

Bamboo is a renewable resource because it grows so quickly. The Moso bamboo plant used to make Ever Bamboo grows two feet or more in a single day.

These powerful charcoal packs remain effective for an entire year. And you can recharge them during that time, if needed. Put them out in the sun for a few hours to release any absorbed odors and moisture.

And adding to the environmentally-minded benefits, when the charcoal is finished fighting odor, put the pieces in your garden or potting soil. It will deter pests and absorb excessive moisture.

Bamboo charcoal is produced from the rapidly growing Moso bamboo. It has countless tiny holes that give the resulting bamboo charcoal its revolutionary abilities as both a deodorizer and dehumidifier. [sustainable, reusable, recyclable]

I am thrilled that Daily Grommet is featuring the Ever Bamboo story to show you how to get rid of stinks from your home (fridge, closet), stinks from your significant other (may it be his/her shoes, hockey equipment, gym bag), stinks from your boys and girls (that funny smell in your teenage boy's room or her sport equipment). Please note that we don't have a product for bad breath or the armpit just quite yet. Let's purify by nature with Ever Bamboo instead of get polluted with chemicals (from your typical air fresheners). My name is K.B., drop me a line, questions/comments. To our fans, drop a review =) Let's chat.

Yes, our Room Deodorizer works well in a room of around 100 sqft. I just tried that in my cousin's room (with the teenage boy's smell) back in August as the smell was gone the next day.

that's great, let's purify by nature with Ever Bamboo instead of odor-masking with your typical air fresheners (which don't list out their ingredients on their packaging because they're filled with artificial fragrance or even chemicals).

I LOVE that this was put to the test in a hockey bag. If you've never had the pleasure of opening up a foul smelling hockey bag, consider yourself lucky! It's not a smell you quickly erase from your mind. If it works on that kind of funk, I can't imagine that there is any odor that it can't knock out. I continue to be amazed by all of the benefits of Bamboo!

We have been using this product for about two years now and have not ever found anything superior. We love the spicy Korean KimChi and always have a large container in our fridge. Before using this product we could find nothing that would absorb the strong smell now we don't even know it's in the fridge. We try to make a point of using sustainable products when we can and this one is one of the best. I would not hesitate to recomend this product to anyone and the fact that it is fully recyclable is just an added bonus. Being urban aprtment dewellers we don't have a garden but when I replace my deodorisors I give them to family to add to their gardens a a great and green way to help the soil. This product is truly a hit and great value for the money I will be a customer for many years to come.

The room deodorizer in my car is working great, especially if I have eaten in the car there are no more lingering food smells.

@Claudia What a great idea to use Ever Bamboo in your car. Just yesterday I cleared the Rambler's backseat of Burger King wrappers etc. from my boys' adventures. The car LOOKED good. But it did not smell so great, and I was chagrined about that, since I was giving a guest a ride. I'll be tossing one of these puppies right under the back seat of each car.

Just stumble upon on this video. That's a great product. I am a pet owner and always concern with my guests can smell the dog at home. I love it for the fact that it is a natural product and able to re-pot in the garden. I can't wait to get a hold of this in Canada.

I put the Rom Deodorizer in the hallway where we keep the dogs at night. It always smells terrible. This morning....it's totally neutralized! KB-put the deodorizer on top of a heater....will that affect its performance?

not ideal to place it on top of a heater, best to put it in a place with normal room temperature.

I noticed in the video that the pouches were placed directly in the hockey skate and glove. I was hoping this was something I could place in the bag itself and it would absorb the odors from all the items in there...skates, gloves, pads, etc. Will it work that way or do the pouches have to be placed directly insidie each item?

  • KB
    KB – Special Guest
    10/9/2009 6:20 PM

the short answer is yes, you can place the pouches in the bag itself and it would absorb odors from all items. Here is the long answer, the logic that there's 4 pouches in the Hockey Pack is that the skates sometime are in a different compartment in the bag. And we heard the gloves have the worst odor and while the glove are placed along with other gears (pads, etc), the pouch in the glove would absorb odors from all items (the pouch shape is fairly long, hence it wouldn't stuck in the glove entirely with the end portion exposing to all the gears at the same time). hope this helps.

One trick I tried to deodorize/sanitize my pads was by using Vodka. It's a quick and easy way to not only get your pads clean, but to also remove the stench. Pro players in Russia (and I'm sure America too) have used this trick for years. Let me know if it worked for yours too!

Approximatley how long does the product last when used in sports gear? How often should it be replaced?

  • Katherine

@Karen, with proper care, your product can last an entire year or more. For optimal performance place your bamboo charcoal product outside under direct sunlight (2-3 hours per side) monthly or weekly.

What about the northern states that don't have such a hot sun during the winter season? Will this climate still work on the pads when placed outside for optimal performance?

  • KB

@Athena - Actually, any exposure under direct sunlight would help reactivate the bamboo charcoal, even 1-2 hours.

Sunlight through a window would work too but direct is better.

Does the charcoal renew? That is, after you use it for a while, does it lose its ability to absorb odors? Or is there a way to regenerate it?

  • Katherine
    Katherine – Grommet Team
    2/20/2011 6:22 PM

@Lee: Yes, it does regenerate. Simply place your bamboo charcoal product outside under direct sunlight (2-3 hours per side) monthly or every few weeks for optimal performance.

stupid question, but are the shoe deodorizers supposed to be used when not being worn? if so, how long does it take to remove the smell?

  • Katherine
    Katherine – Grommet Team
    4/15/2011 11:03 AM

@jenny song: Yes, they are to be used in the shoe but not when you are wearing the shoe. I spoke to K.B. and he says that 10-12 hours in the shoe is what you will need to get rid of the smell.

I live in a renovated basement apartment...2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room. I have no idea how many square feet, but the rooms aren't small. The bathroom and the larger bedroom get condensation on the floor, and bath towels don't dry. How many bags would I need? And how would I dry the bags if I can't put them in the sun for hours?

  • Katherine

@MBT: It doesn't sound like this would be a good solution for you. I would recommend getting a dehumidifier to remove the moisture from the air. Good luck!

Hi, Just wondering if this will gather all scents??? I really like the smell of some of the plug ins...scented candles...bamboo reeds in fragrant oils.....

I also have one doog and two cats and a smelly litterbox...no matter how often I clean it. I recently picked up a bag of charcoal and filled several jars, leaving the top slightly open. This smeems to have helped someewhat, but I still like my home to smell "pretty."

I need your input. I do not want anyone who comes in the front door to even know I have any pets at all. I need to have pet smells gone.

Thank you so much for help help,

@Dianne Bensette: The Ever Bamboo charcoal deodorizers do absorb odors very well. The Room Deodorizer is especially designed to absorb odors like pets. You can read more info in the DETAILS tab (under the video) on the page where the Grommet is featured. The deodorizers do not add fragrance to your home.

Would one of these work to prevent odor in large garbage pails?Could I tape it to the lid of the can, which has a black plastic liner? Which one and how long would it last before having to be renewed and replaced? Have you considered making one for garbage pails?

@ Marguerite: KB, our Gormmet partner, is excited to share that a Garbage Bin Deodorizer will be available in a few months. It will have a velcro tape for the deodorizer sleeve to be attached to the top of the inner lid. We'll be sure to let you know when available.

In the mean time, you can buy the Mini Deodorizer, which comes in three 25 g pouches. There's a paper inner pouch that is inside the black pouch. You can cut the edges of the black fabric pouch, without cutting the paper pouch. Then tape the paper pouch onto the inner lid.

You can get more info in the DETAILS tab (under video) on the featured Grommet page about care & longevity of the deodorizers.
