Ick-Free Kids' Care

It’s not hard to find all-natural, organic foods for our babies and young kids. But what about the stuff that goes on their skin? After the birth of her first child, Kate Solomon struggled to find salon quality, organic products created especially for kids’ hair, scalp and skin. She was in an ideal position to do something about the lack of options, with more than a decade of experience in product development at L’Oreal, Parfums Givenchy and Avon. Kate partnered with a team of botantists on a certified organic farm in upstate New York who helped her create a new line of organic shampoos, conditioners, detanglers and lotions for babies and children. She uses only pure flower and plant extracts for her dermatologist-tested creations. There are no artificial fragrances or colors, and you won’t find any icky stuff — no sulfates, formaldehyde, paraben or phthalates. Babo Botanicals products (named after her son’s security bunny) are free of dairy, soy and nut oils, too. The idea that what we put on our babies’ skin should be as healthy as what we feed our babies hit home for Darcy Bentley Frisch, a new mom who told us about Babo Botanicals. “My daughter Nelle, already so sweet and cuddly, is even more so after she comes out of her Babo Oatmilk Calendula bath,” Darcy says. “I can’t resist the combo of the wonderful product scent with her baby soft skin.” Kate’s mission is one we can get behind, too. She’s committed to natural ingredients, eco-friendly packaging and corporate responsibility — a portion of Babo Botanicals revenue supports a non-profit project to turn community center rooftops into gardens. It’s a recipe for good health and meaningful success.

I feel so privileged that Daily Grommet has chosen Babo Botanicals to be featured as an Earth Day Special!

I have spent the past two years developing the gentlest, naturally-based formulas to care for babies, children and their mommies. All the shampoos and lotions are made on an organic farm in the U.S and use the highest quality of botanical ingredients. These professional products address children’s needs from tangly hair to sensitive skin to lice prevention.

No parabens, sulfates, phthalates, artificial fragrances or nut oils. Allergy tested and clinically tested to ensure health and safety.

I’m a mom of two – and have worked for over 10 years in the beauty industry – so I hope you join in the great conversations we’ll have about children’s (and mom’s) health and beauty today!! I can’t wait to speak to you all!

Kate! My daughter is obsessed with the bunny on the packaging. She was just at the computer with me and pointed to the bunny on the screen that she knows so well from her tubby time. She also really likes to try to put the detangler in her hair all by herself. Which, is hilarious because she's only a year and a half!

That's so great to hear - because bunnies are near and dear to our family too. My 3 year old son loves knowing that his security bunny, Babo, is on his shampoo bottle.

My stylist told me about your line so I bought the rosemary and cucumber shampoos for my kids for the summer. I love the smell of the rosemary teatree so much though that I'm now using it for myself! Thanks for making some awesome products.

Jessica, thanks for your comment. Yes, even though the Rosemary Tea Tree is for Lice Prevention - it still smells amazing - and leaves the hair looking shiny and smooth too.
