You’re hungry, it’s too hot to bake, and your garden (or the local farmers market) is ripe with fruits and vegetables. It’s the perfect time for a summer salad, and we’ve found the ideal vessel. The HandsOn salad bowl from Joseph Joseph is brilliant. It’s design is clever and fun with a generous dash of wit. The integrated salad servers are shaped like hands, and when you’re not using them, they snap into place on the sides of the melamine bowl, creating sculptural, contrasting graphics. We’re also featuring Joseph Joseph’s round multi-function worktop saver. It’s made from toughened glass and easily makes the transition from cutting board to trivet to serving tray. The bright circles are modern and fun, which is just what we’ve come to expect from the British company headed by twins Antony and Richard Joseph. We’ve featured their chic kitchenware in the past, including their hinged chopping board, adjustable rolling pin, citrus reamer, scoop colander, and five-in-one Unitool utensil. The more we see of Antony and Richard’s revolutionary kitchen creations, the more we like. Their work is innovative, stylish and functional — a recipe for great design.

I couldn't be more thrilled to be back at the Daily Grommet with more Joseph

Joseph products to share with you. Today, we've set our design sights on

presentation by taking two common household items, the salad bowl and the

prep board, and giving them a new sense of style so fresh that you'll be

reaching for them for purposes far beyond salads and food prep. My name is

Michael and I run Joseph Joseph US from New York and I'd love to hear what

you think of our products and answer any questions that you have.

I'm hooked! I make a lettuce, tomato and cheese salad for family events and it never fails that all the cheese and tomatoes end up at the bottom of the bowl. The Artful HandsOn Salad Bowl would certainly solve that problem. Definitely need to let the family know about these..I have a birthday coming up. :)

@Julie - great birthday idea! I love how the salad servers are integrated so you won't lose them and they are easier to store. And I love that the board goes from prep to serving and does a good job at both. More winners, Joseph Joseph!

Just a note from a knife expert: The glass board is perfect for serving cheese or as a trivet, but cutting on glass (or marble or metal) is a sure-fire way to ruin your knives. It's beautiful enough to use in lots of other ways though!

@Jill, thank you for your helpful comment about not regularly using this board as a cutting board (as it could damage your knives). We agree, it is more useful as a general food prep board, trivet and serving board. We appreciate your feedback!

@Janet - you can return a Grommet within 30 days of purchase. Customer pays the return shipping cost. Each order is sent with information on how to return the product if necessary. This would make a wonderful, unique shower gift!

I received my order of the salad bowl and board. They look great! It appears on the box that there are two other color combos in addition to the white with green "hands." Can the other colors be ordered through you?

@Janet - I'm glad you like them! We will only be carrying the one color combo for now and they aren't available yet on the Joseph Joseph site. That is probably where you will first be able to get them.
