The Oak Barrel Company

Wine Barrel Lazy Susan

A Fresh Spin on a Reclaimed Wine Barrel

There’s nothing faux about this gorgeous lazy server. It’s made from reclaimed wine barrels, so even the grape stains are authentic. The artist who makes these one-of-a-kind pieces is Chris Deffenbaugh from Wooster, Ohio. He refurbishes each oak barrel top by hand, preserving the original wine maker’s markings and all the colorful, textured evidence of the barrelhead’s previous life.

The wood top spins on a ball-bearing base, so everyone around your table can reach their favorite appetizers. It’s beautiful, functional and a great conversation piece when you’re getting together with family and friends. When you’re not using it as a serving tray, it’s a work of art for your tabletop — and one less vintage treasure lost in a landfill. Time to roll out the barrel!

My brother is going to LOVE this. I'm ordering it for him now, and I'll try to wait until Christmas to give it to him. We'll see how successful I'll be at waiting. He's a real wine aficionado, and he has the perfect table for this in his game room. I know his eyes are going to pop when he sees this. Thanks for offering such amazing products.

@Jodi, it is 22" in diameter and about 3" tall.

@Sylvia - we are glad to have helped you discover the perfect gift for your brother!

    @DJP - perfect!

I also wanted to point out that each piece is created at time of order and so you will need to allow 7-10 days for your piece to be completed. These are just gorgeous!

This is so cool and unique!! I love that the wood is being reused for something functional! I was looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for my best friend's wedding in August! This is perfect!!! Thanks for sharing!!

What will Cal Vines come up with next?! They are an awesome, REPUTABLE business. I have purchased from them for years; friendly, reliable and really aware of what it takes to run a GREEN company. Custmer service can't be beat with this Woman owned gem!

I can't wait to get one of these. Not only to serve wine and cheese but to use playing Scrabble as I used to with my grandmother.

Is it possible to choose what wine or insignia is on the lazy susan? ie. is there a way for the artist to communicate with the buyer with a few options ... a really nice Syrah top, a cool Beringer barrel, a nice little number from Grgich? This would be a super cool gift if you could personalize it for an individual's taste or favorite vineyard/wine - is this possible?! I may just order one anyway though !!! I have seen the one in the video in person - and it's simply wonderful.

Yes, it is possible to speak with the Artisan Chris Deffenbaugh to request a special vintage or cooper marking from a particular winery. He can also customize the servers; great for gift giving.

I just received my reclaimed wine barrel server. It is absolutely perfect! It has so much character and moves smoothly when turning. I have been looking for a long time for a lazy susan with character - this is a wonderful piece.

Can you tell me if this is a stain color that is similar to the one in the video versus the picture of it? I like the darker stain in the video! Thanks so much!

Can you tell me what the diameter of this lazy susan is? It's beautiful, but I have a 60" square table, so I'm looking for at least 23-24". Also, did you say I can request dark wood?

  • Terri
    11/7/2012 6:33 PM

I just read that it's 22" in diameter and 3" high. Do you think that's big enough for a 60" square table?
