Designed to Scrub

It all began in Italy, in 1985, with a mop. Bruce Kaminstein was vacationing when he stumbled upon and was wowed by the design of a simple mop. He ordered some for his family’s hardware store in New York City, and when the mops sailed off the shelves, Bruce knew he was onto something. In the years since that trip, he built a business by giving everyday housewares a modern makeover, insisting on good designs, quality materials, and superior function. Bruce’s take on common household sponges got us all sudsed up. His idea to design different sponges for specific household chores makes complete sense. After all, does anyone really want to use the same sponge to clean wine glasses and Fido’s bowl? Casabella sponges are made from natural cellulose, which is tough when it needs to be and rinses like a dream. The grill sponge is for cleaning indoor grills, broiling pans, and outdoor grills, and the screen sponges are designed for cleaning aluminum or window screens. The wine glass sponge has a slot for cleaning glass rims, and the nail saver cube sponge has scrubby fiber on one side and is tall enough to protect your nails while cleaning. The pet bowl sponge is shaped like a bone — which ensures you won’t want to use it on anything but pet bowls. Casabella means “beautiful house” in Italian, and it’ll be a cinch to have one with these fun, functional sponges. BTW... Bruce still loves that mop.

We at Casabella® are excited to have our sponges featured on today’s Daily Grommet. We did a lot of brainstorming to come up with these innovative sponges to help make some of your most difficult cleaning jobs easier. They are also in fun colors – who wants to clean with a boring looking sponge!

First of all, I love Casebella gloves and have blogged about them. I prefer sponges to rags in the kitchen and bathroom and have to have these. Can I get them at Bed, Bath and Beyond or must I buy online?

@Yvonne - thanks for your comment, you are a great part of our community and we appreciate your interactions. When it comes to the question 'Where else can I buy' we really hope you'll buy here! We don't have any advertising on our site, we don't charge a company for their Grommet feature, the only way we make money to continue doing what we are doing is if people who like the products we introduce them to buy them from us. So one of the best ways you can support Daily Grommet is by purchasing from us. Thanks!

@lori - I wonder what did happen to those mops. That was 25 years ago, it would be interesting to hear if they are still around!

    Thank you for the compliment.

We have discontinued the mop since it was made in Italy and with the exchange rate became too expensive. The mop was chrome, was easy to wring, very well made and had a lifetime guarantee. We do sell other mops and Katherine will be in touch with you about those.

I've always wanted a muffin tin sponge to help clean out the muffin tin after baking muffins or cupcakes -- would love to see that added to your line!

when it says (6) in the product description, does that mean you get 6 sponges for the price, or is the price listed for one sponge (which would be pretty pricey!)?
