Changing the Face of Intimate Accessories

We didn’t select this Grommet lightly, and we understand not all of our readers are interested in adult intimate accessories. For those who are, Jimmyjane is worth a look. This is no ordinary company. Under the direction of Ethan Imboden, Jimmyjane is changing how the world thinks about intimate accessories. Ethan has a background in engineering and industrial design, and he combines these two disciplines to create products that are sophisticated, playful, and revolutionary. His repertoire includes scented candles, massage lotions, and vibrating massagers. Jimmyjane is tackling once-taboo subjects with style and discretion, and the company is also winning awards for its designs. Ethan collaborated on the design of the Form 2 vibrator with visionary industrial designer Yves Behar (who also contributed to the design of PACT’s organic underwear). The Form 2 is a waterproof, rechargeable vibrator. The design earned Jimmyjane a coveted IDEA award from the Industrial Designers Society of America. That’s no easy feat. “This is a very progressive company, very tasteful, and really changing perceptions in this market,” said Phil Schlein (one of several people who recommended Jimmyjane to us). “You have to check them out.” Before founding Jimmyjane, Ethan designed mainstream products such as footwear, cell phones, and furniture. When he discovered that the market for intimate accessories needed design attention, he decided to focus his creativity there. In Ethan’s words: “If anything should be beautifully designed, it’s the products that are involved in our sexuality.”

My name’s Ethan, and I’m the Founder and Chief Creative of Jimmyjane, a design-centric brand founded on the belief that life is better with a sexy twist. I started the company in 2003, seeing an unprecedented opportunity to transform customer experience in an area of universal interest – sexuality. Among other things, this means that I have the good fortune of spending most of my waking hours thinking about sex. (On second thought, perhaps that’s not so unusual – but in my case, I get to call it “work”.)

More importantly, here’s what it means to you – now, with Jimmyjane (and Daily Grommet!), you have easy access to beautifully designed, exceptionally high quality (think: three year warranty), perfectly body-friendly (we use only phthalate-free, medical grade materials) and thoroughly pleasurable vibrators and other sex accessories. I hope you’ll take a moment to tune in to our story, and to chime in with your thoughts.

    Live Sexy.

Nice job, Grommet team. You handled this with the appropriate decorum. Ethan - great video. It will be interesting to see who will comment about personal experience with the product, right?

Good for you. Tastefully done, without assaulting the viewer with heaving cleavage and orgasmic mouths. Certainly not for everyone but then, neither are pet coats or children's toys.

They look very well made, but seem to be a bit pricey for the smaller items.

    Hi Lisa,

I'm guessing that the smaller items you're referring to include the FORM 2 (with the ears) and the FORM 3. These items are quite compact, but rest assured they provide superior performance. Though they may seem pricey, this is because we use much higher quality materials and more durable construction than what you typically find in the market. For example, each of our FORM products is made of phthalate-free silicone and stainless steel, so they're completely body-safe. They also offer cordless recharging and come with a charging base, so there are no batteries to buy. Plus, they come backed with the industry's only Three Year Limited Warranty, so you can expect to have a friend for years to come. You can learn more about our products at our website, and we're happy to answer any questions you may have!

JImmyJane stuff is pricey - because it is well made, exquisitely designed, and superior in performance. I do not own any myself (yet), but those I know who do rave about them.
