Yoga Mat & Carry Sling

Get a Grip

Nothing ruins a Zen moment like a slippery yoga mat. With Lotuspad, you can hold your pose on a non-slip mat that’s extra thick, extra long and eco-friendly too.

Katy Downey created Lotuspad after she went looking for a safe yoga mat for her baby to play on. She wanted a nontoxic mat made without potentially harmful materials like PVC. When she had a hard time finding one, she decided to make it herself.

Lotuspad is a bit thicker (5 millimeters) and a bit longer (72 inches) than most mats, and it has a superior grip.
It’s free of PVC, BPA, latex and lead. The closed cell construction means it resists moisture, prevents bacterial and fungal growth, and won’t hold onto unsavory smells. It’s also reversible, so you can use both brightly colored sides. When you’re done, the Lotuspad rolls up for easy transport with one of Katy’s handcrafted carrying straps made of sturdy grosgrain ribbon.

If you’re looking for cushioned comfort and a better grip, Lotuspad does it with style.

Grommet Launch Conversation

I’m truly honored that the wise women (and men) of The Daily Grommet loved my yoga mats so much that they chose to offer them to you today. We're a small family-run business inspired by my daughter and my own love of yoga - everything you see here is designed by me.

I don't know about you, but I find that having a mat I love makes it a little easier to get to my practice more often. Our mats are softer and thicker than most yoga mats and have none of the PVC or phthalates found in most standard sticky mats. Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'll be here to answer any of your questions this afternoon, so ask away!

How does this compare to the Jade Fusion, which is made from natural rubber and contains no PVC?

Glad you asked! Lotuspad TPE yoga mats are much lighter than natural rubber and contain no latex (lots of latex allergies out there).

Also, rubber mats have a very strong smell which never seems to go away. Customers have brought in old rubber mats for recycling that still smell as strong as the day they were purchased. Once removed from their packaging for a few days, Lotuspad mats will have no unpleasnat smell - no small thing when you're breathing deeply!

As a teacher, I highly recommend these mats to my students; as a student, it's the best mat I've ever seen or used; as an eco-conscious consumer, this is a product (and a company) I can feel good about supporting.

These also make great gifts! The colors are so vibrant and beautiful and the feel of the mat is almost velvety. It's also nice and cushy and long enough for a taller yogini like me. Bonus is that it's the grippiest mat I've ever used in my 10 years of practice - no matter how sweaty I get, my hands haven't slipped.

    Highly recommend.

And in answer to the question above in comparison to Jade - I think these are more than 50% cheaper than Jade (as compared to their eco-friendly mats, which I saw for retail for about $100), and I liked these colors better.

I have a yoga studio in Panama, and we have only LotusPad yoga mats. Have had them for two years since we opened, and you can imagine how many times a day each one of those mats have been use... The mats are still in great shape, and people love them so much when they buy mats from us, they usually buy the Lotus Pad ones we have for sale. Awesome product, great company!

I love my LotusPad yoga mat and our customers love them too. Every time I unroll my own mat, it makes me smile. A joy to practice on. We see so many different mats coming & going through the studio door and Lotus Pad mats & straps (slings) are by far our favorites: eco friendly, excellent quality, lightweight, great colors!
