All-Natural Dessert Sauces


Daily Grommet found Sassy Sauces by following the crowd. Joanne was at a local craft fair and noticed one table with dozens of folks eagerly waiting (stomachs growling) for their chance to taste one of pastry chef Maureen Harder’s delicious gourmet dessert sauces.

Harder, who trained at Peter Kump’s Cooking School in New York, did her time in some of the best kitchens in the Boston area, including Grill 23, Birch Street Bistro, and the Federalist. Sassy Sauces is her baby now, and we instantly fell in love with her
flavors, her quality (all-natural ingredients include Vermont cream and butter, and French and Belgian chocolate), and her adorable packaging.

The Daily Grommet sampler pack includes 9 oz. jars of spicy dark chocolate (wonderfully complex), rum caramel (a hit with sophisticated foodies!), milk chocolate caramel (our testers’ favorite), and bittersweet chocolate (amazing). And as for what you do with them, the possibilities are endless. Sure you can spoon over ice cream or cake, but you could also have a Valentine’s day fondue night, make semi-homemade truffles, or add milk to make hot chocolate. Yummy and versatile. Sweet!

    This sampler pack includes some of my favorites: Bittersweet Chocolate, Rum Caramel, Spicy Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate Caramel. We make the sauces for people who are passionate about chocolate and care about eating only all natural and quality ingredients. Try the sauces over ice cream, cakes, pies or use as fondue.     Sassy Sauces was at the Bedford Farmers' Market last year and it was wonderful. I had to keep buying the different flavors so we could savor them all. In September, I bought some to send to my daughter in college.

    We love them all!!

    I love Sassy Sauces. When I was pregnant I would eat the caramel sauce like a soup- it was that good! Sassy Sauces make great teacher gifts- my children have given them out and they are always the teachers' favorite gifts. Besides the caramel, the spicy chocolate is really good over vanilla pound cake.

    I love, love, LOVE this stuff. It never makes it on top of anything in my house, because I just wind up eating it straight out of the jar with a spoon. Yummy!

    These sauces are my favorite and I absolutely love any and all of them heated up and served over ice cream! MMMMMM....DELICIOUS!

    I was one of the lucky testers of Sassy Sauces. I took a few flavors to my very-picky-about-chocolate friends, over the holidays. They went pretty nuts over the Spicy Dark. I did too.

    The choclate sauces are so yummy you can eat them witha spoon right out of the jar. My favorite is the milk chocolate caramel! I dip apples in it for a helathy treat. The rum caramel is great on Fench toast!

    You will absolutely love Sassy Sauces. I feel like I am getting a taste of the finer things in life. And when you give it as a gift, people always want to know where you got it.
