Alljoy Design

Felt Tabletop Accessories

Artistry from Ireland

When Jules and Joanne had a chance to go to Ireland to scout Grommets, one of the treasures they discovered on the Emerald Isle is tabletop décor from Alljoy Design. The trivets, placemats and coasters feature intricate cut-out designs. Some of the stunning patterns are geometric and modern, others are more traditional, with delicate florals and fanciful scroll details.

Jaiwen and Ling Xu are the creative duo who founded
Alljoy. Their cutting-edge (literally) designs start as sketches, are refined on the computer, and then produced using a laser cutter that can carve even the most complex patterns into the thick felt mats. Form and function meld together beautifully in these brightly colored trivets, coasters, and placemats (note that European-sized placemats are slightly smaller than U.S. versions). If you’re looking for a fresh new look for your tabletop, look no further than Jaiwen and Ling’s special export from Ireland. Read More Read Less

Hi Daily Grommet fans. We are so excited that Jules and Joanne discovered us on their trip to Ireland and felt that the Daily Grommet community would like our creations. We are happy to be with you. It's evening here in Ireland but we are here to answer any questions you have about our products.

These are so unique and attractive. I love them.

Yes, these ARE lovely as is the story. However, the photos and video show various designs and colors. I've looked at the order placement a couple of times and I do not see where one can specify either color or design. Am I missing something? Please explain how one can be more specific about the desired item.

I figured it out: I had not gone far enough in the ordering process. Sorry.

These are fantastic designs. What do you do with the left overs (the pieces that become the holes)? I think they would make great jewelry.

@Pam Ronan: Hello, thank you for the common, this is actually a very good idea, we will expand our felt range to other items in the future, we are already made some craft project with some left over piece for our friends wedding :)

I love the colors and the intricate designs. My work mates and I love the attention to detail. They are so very lovely.

Do you offer the coasters in any other colors? My dad's favourite color is green, which seems like a good color for an Irish product. And my kitchen is done in warm shades of salmon and brown. I love the idea of the felt coasters, but these bright primary colors would not be appropriate for either of us. Any plans to offer more earthy tones?

@Wendy: Unfortunately, we weren't able to import their entire line. Hopefully down the road we will be able to bring over even more colors. Thanks for letting us know that green would be a winner for you.

How do you clean these beautiful mats?

  • Katherine

@ Elin You would scrape any food off and wipe with a damp cloth. You do not want to submerge them in water.

I have the red and blue set. I use the red as coasters. They are the best coasters I have ever found. They not only look great they are so absorbent. I put the 4 blue ones together in a square and placed a lamp on top. Looks beautiful and keeps the lamp from scratching the table. Their web site shows many more colors and styles. It would be great if we could order those as well. I would buy more for gifts!! The designs are beautiful!!

@ Carol: Thank you for stopping by to share your experience & decorative (yet practical) idea. We'll be sure to let you know if we import more of their beautiful line. Your friends are very lucky that you're thinking of getting this Grommet for them.

A design with the music treble clef sign would be amazing. Could you make something like that? Musicians and music lovers throughout the world would love them. I would buy several for myself, friends and family.

It looks to me as though you are sold out of many items. Is there a chance that you'll re-stock with Daily Grommet?

I'd like to make these my holiday gift for friends and family this year...but you seem to be out of almost all. Will you be restocking? Can you email notify me when they are available? I can give details about my order by email. Thanks so much!
