Bite Helper

Bug Bite Itch and Irritation Neutralizer

Itch Situation

Neutralize an itchy bug bite in 45 seconds.

This bug bite soother uses science to soothe your skin after mosquito, bee, wasp, or ant bites.

Female insects leave a toxic insect saliva and bacteria-laden mixture when they bite. But bacteria are thermolabile (they’re destroyed by heat), so Bite Helper uses heat to kill the
bacteria. To improve blood flow in the affected area, which also helps your skin recover, a pulsing vibration is added in, too.

Its barely-thicker-than-a-pen design makes Bite Helper easy to take with you on mosquito-prone trips. We learned it works best when you use it in the four-hour window right after the annoying insect assault.

Pack it with you for camping, game day, or an outdoor event—it’ll stop the itch and sting in its tracks.

ok, so I am the insect repellent for all those around me. In an hour period, I can easily get 20 bites. I can't seem to remember to bring insect repellent and really can't stand using it anyway so then I always have bites. My question is, how many times can you use it on one set of batteries?

@Lori Hi, great question. BITE HELPER uses two AA size 1.5-volt batteries. Alkaline batteries are recommended. Batteries are not included. It is recommended to change the batteries at least once per season or after 150 uses, whichever comes first.

@Vickie Hi, amazing question. BITE HELPER is NOT designed to treat the stings or bites of spiders, scorpions or snakes and is ineffective against these stings and bites. If stung or bitten by a spider, scorpion, snake or any poisonous animal, get medical help immediately.

Does this also help with chigger bites...mosquitoes and chiggers are rampant where I live...Hot Springs Village, AR. Just last week, I had three chigger bites and started itching immediately. I went to the Village Health Mart here and got a bottle of stuff that takes away itching from these insects!

@Suzanne Hi, very good question. Chiggers are scientifically called the Trombiculidae and belong to a family of mites. We have not studied Bite Helper in the mites, however I think that it should offer ample solution to the itch and irritation from their bites.

I live in Kentucky and during the summer we suffer from "chiggers" during the summer months. These insects aren't dangerous, but their bite causes a really severe itchy spot. Do you think this device would help alleviate the itch from these critters?

  • Eugene

    6/9/2017 11:23 AM

@Deborah Hi, Bite Helper neutralizes itch and irritation from insect bites using concentrated heat and vibration. Because chigger bite wounds are a complex combination of enzymatic and the resulting mechanical damage, plus allergy and immune responses, plus possible secondary bacterial infection subject to local influences, no one remedy works equally well for most people. However Bite Helper will help to neutralize the itching sensation for sure.

My grandson, (3 years old) has a severe reaction to bug bites. It usually takes several days for the swelling to go down and has been prescribed an epipen just in case. Will this help break down the bite part that causes the allergic reaction? Not looking for a miracle, but a little relief would be great!

@VIKKI Hello, great question. Bite Helper will work for adults and children 4 years of age and older. The main reason why we are recommending to be used on kids 4 years of age or older is because the Bite Helper heats up and kids that are younger than 4 frequently cant verbalize their sensation and comfort level when it comes to warm objects. It is totally up to you to oversee the process and to make sure that you inform your child if the Bite Helper feels to warm on their skin to let you know, so you can just remove it from the affected area and let the skin cool off. Please use logic and common sense when you are using the Bite Helper.

@Eugene I am severely allergic and have to use an Epipen when stung by bees/wasps etc.... I balloon up and have a severe itching reaction and swelling for up to three weeks after. Do you think that this could possibly help with the itching or reduce the length of the itching?

@Lisa Hi, great question. Bite Helper will great assist with neutralizing itch and irritation, and the quicker you use it after a sting or a bite the better overall results you will have. BITE HELPER does NOT treat or replace treatments for allergic reactions to insect stings or bites. In the case of an allergic reaction, get medical help immediately. BITE HELPER is NOT intended to replace medical advice or treatment. If your allergies, pain or itch is severe or persistent, immediately consult a physician.

@Eugene Thanks for the info... I usually have several doses of epinephrine at the hospital after I am stung. Me and my epipen are always off to the hospital immediately. My DR is aware of my severe swelling and itching. I just was curious because if anything can help to reduce the itching afterwards that is not chemical based, I am willing to give it a try.

I purchased this a few weeks back and am very happy with this!! If the bite reaction area is larger it takes a few more applications/uses, but has greatly minimized the itch-until-it-bleeds cycle. Our area is experiencing larger than usual black fly infestations, and it even works well on those. My 10 and 13 year old kids love it too, knowing to stop when it gets hot enough. This has greatly helped on mosquito bites for me, and is worth every penny for the bites I've treated.

@Lisa Hello, great question. Bite Helper uses Thermo-Pulse-Technology™ that was developed by Maxogen Group to be utilized in consumer health & wellness products. Thermo-Pulse-Technology™ delivers concentrated heat and vibration to the affected bite area increasing localized blood flow and circulation. The heat is initiated by depressing finger activated on/off switch. Heat is produced as long as the switch is depressed. This effectively raises the temperature of the device to approximately 120°F. One of the most important component of the Bite Helper is the "thermostat" that will prevent the Bite Helper from going over 120°F. Please use common sense when you are using the Bite Helper, as each individual has their own sensitivity to heat. Use Carefully. May cause serious burns. Do NOT use over sensitive skin or in the presence of poor circulation. The unattended use of Bite Helper by children or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.

Is the neutralizer effective on flea bites?

  • Eugene

    6/9/2017 12:04 PM

@Helen Hi, interesting question. Bite Helper will neutralize itch and irritation from flea bites. Fleas are small flightless insects that form the order Siphonaptera. As external parasites of mammals and birds, they live by consuming the blood of their hosts similar to other arthropods like mosquitoes.

Will it help fire ant bites or prevent the pustule?

  • Eugene

    6/9/2017 12:13 PM

@Kathryn Hello, great question. BITE HELPER is designed to work on neutralizing itch and irritation caused by insect stings and bites from mosquitoes, flies, bees, wasps and ants. Fire ant is the common name for several species of ants in the genus Solenopsis family. They are, however, only a minority in the genus, which includes over 200 species of Solenopsis worldwide.

The toxins and venom of fire ants is composed of alkaloids derived from piperidine. Some people are allergic to the venom, and as with many allergies, may experience anaphylaxis, which requires emergency treatment. BITE HELPER does NOT treat or replace treatments for allergic reactions to insect stings or bites. In the case of an allergic reaction, get medical help immediately.

@Suzette Hello, great question. Bite Helper user should feel a gentle vibration and gradual heating sensation. Maintain BITE HELPER on the affected area for not more than 45 seconds during each application. Most people apply it around 30 to 40 seconds. If the heat becomes uncomfortable, remove Bite Helper from the affected area immediately.

Please use common sense and if it feels to warm and uncomfortable, remove the Bite Helper from your skin. Use Carefully. Do NOT use over sensitive skin or in the presence of poor circulation. The unattended use of Bite Helper by children or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.
