Calling All American Makers

Here at The Grommet we support American Makers and launch many Made in the USA products throughout the year. So when we heard about this year's American Made Program with Martha Stewart, we knew it was something we should share. Are you an American Maker? If so, this program might just be for you.
...
Martha Stewart's American Made Program spotlights the Maker, supports the local, and celebrates the handmade. Through the 2014 Martha Stewart American Made Awards, Martha, her panel of judges, and the American Made community are selecting the next generation of American Made entrepreneurs, those who are creating beautiful, inspiring, useful products; pioneering new industries; improving local communities; and changing the way we eat, shop, work, and live.

The American Made Awards recognize ingenuity and excellence in the fields of crafts, design, food, and style. Prizes include a trip for two to New York City, a spot in our American Made Market, an opportunity to be featured in Martha Stewart Living, $10,000 to grow your business, and much more!

We have a product called the book hook plus that we have a patent for. We've made them at home but really need a manufacturer. It will hold a book, laptop, kindle, magazine, soda on your car steering wheel while waiting for someone at the train station, your child at an after school sport event etc... You can also use it in your home at a table to read. Would you be interested in seeing pictures?

You name it: food, crafts, style. I've done it all and would adore a trip to the Big Apple (was there stranded by Sandy in '12). Very involved in giving back to local communities via our Gleaner's Holland Arbor network.

A month or two ago I sent you pictures of my Squirrel Proof Bird Feeders. Which are also Green, made from recycled #10 food cans. American hand made,by an American.
I would be glad to send more photos, or even send you one of my Bird Feeders. Just tell me how!!!
    Sincerely, William Walldorf

I would like to nominate a Grommet Creator, that your site featured a month or so ago: I cannot remember her name --- but she created over the ear [individualized] ear muffs. I think they were called "Ear Cozies" or something along that idea. Each fit over whichever ear, they were designed for --- no headband --- just the 'little EAR Sweaters'.

  • David Froment Says:

I would nominate Scandic Footwear from New Hampshire. The guy handmakes the world's finest clogs in his BASEMENT. Danish guy who missed the clogs he knew as a younger man so he decided to make them himself. Say hi to my buddy Joanne for me!
