What a wonderful end to summer it’s been for The Grommet. Media buzz from outlets such as Quartz, Forbes and The Wall Street Journal (to name just a few!) have helped to elevate our brand and core mission in a way that we've never experienced. Our community of loyal followers feels stronger than ever and just last week we received the biggest news of all...
Fortune Magazine has named our Co-Founder & CEO, Jules Pieri, one of 2013’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs. Other honorees are CEO’s from EventBrite, BlogHer and more. Jules will attend a summit in October to celebrate the honor and other high profile women in attendance will include Marissa Mayer, Sheryl Sandberg and Tory Burch. Wow! To say that Jules is honored, excited and in awe of her fellow winners is an understatement.
Yet talking with Jules about the honor shows that she’s both humble and pragmatic. “It’s obviously a tremendous achievement for our company, but it also allows me to reach a broader, more influential audience for Title IX legislation for funding women's startups, a personal cause of mine” she said this week. Last month, she wrote a post on this subject on her personal blog and it was so well received that publications such as Boston Business Journal, Upstart Business Journal and The Huffington Post re-posted it.
It’s safe to say that 2013 has been a fantastic year for The Grommet. As we start to head into the holiday season (yes, we’re already thinking about holidays!) we can only hope that 2014 will be just as magical.
Jules, Joanne and our entire company have worked tirelessly to achieve success and we have you, our community to thank for helping us get where we are today. We literally wouldn’t be here without you.
Cheers to Jules and The Grommet team and thank all of YOU for the ongoing support!
