Meet the Maker: Danny Fein of Litographs

Here at The Grommet our mission is to put an end to nameless, faceless business and highlight the people and the stories behind the products we launch each day. And it's in that spirit that we're share this blog series in which we can continue telling the stories of our Makers with you. Get to know them better, learn more about their journeys as entrepreneurs and learn how you, The Grommet Community, have changed their businesses for the better.

In our sixth installment we're catching up with Maker Danny Fein. Danny and his brother Cory  founded Litographs, taking manuscripts from classic books and creating illustrations relating to a theme, character, or setting from each turning them into works of art. Read on as Danny shares insights on running a successful family business and sharing tips on how to grow your own business.

Meet the Maker: Litographs

Entrepreneurs have to wear many hats, especially when their businesses are young. Any role in particular that you unexpectedly liked or disliked?

Customer service is a vital part of any business. We know it can be frustrating when you're on the consumer end of things, and by keeping that in mind when assisting our customers, we've found that we can better understand what's great about Litographs and what could be improved. Sometimes, answering a few customer inquiries can tell you more than hours of independent research.

Any books or resources you would recommended to other Makers?

I recommend Do More Faster by Brad Feld and David Cohen as well as finding mentors who have experience tackling problems in your field or experience with entrepreneurship in general.

Learn more about Litographs in their Grommet launch video (to watch click here).

My husband bought me the Walden Litograph for Christmas - such a beautiful addition to my decor and such a great conversation piece as well!
