Meet the Maker: Sigmar and Tom of Lovetuner

In our Meet the Maker series, you hear from our Makers on their journeys as entrepreneurs and how you, The Grommet Community, have changed their businesses for the better.

Makers Sigmar Berg and Tom Rohner created Lovetuner. It holds a single-note flute that plays 528 Hz–a tone believed to have positive effects on our minds and bodies. With Sigmar’s talent as a designer and Tom’s skills as a spiritual lightworker, they created this Made in the USA necklace to hold some calming influence close at hand. We recently caught up with them to hear a bit more about their entrepreneurial journeys.

Meet the Maker Lovetuner

Best business advice that you ever received?
Be stubborn in following through with your ideas.

What inspires you? Why do you love to design, create, and make?
I love the idea to make this world a healthier, happier, and more peaceful place.

What’s one piece of advice you’d share with other Makers?
Always follow your vision and your heart, no matter what other people say.

What other things do you love to make?
Beside creating the product Lovetuner we are taking it further into a movement of likeminded people, either if it is small tuning groups or big events, to remind people of the power of love.

What advice would you give yourself 10 years ago?
I don’t believe in living in the past or the future, I am living in the here and now.

How do you get around creative blocks?
Creativity is like everything else in life–sometimes its flows, sometimes it doesn't. For me one great tool to overcome creative blocks is the Lovetuner. It centers me again and release blockades in my thought process. When I feel stuck, I tune. It’s a simple but very effective exercise (especially when creativity does not flow if you put yourself under pressure).

How has business changed since launching on The Grommet? How has our community made a difference?
Beside the commercial success what is the foundation of every business and confirmation for every entrepreneur it was the amazing feedback from The Grommet community. The positive reviews and stories shared about the Lovetuner made us very happy. The Grommet is a great platform to connect to the end consumer.

What's up ahead for you?
We are working on a Lovetuner foundation to help underprivileged kids and veterans to heal through the Lovetuner.

I have not seen this product until now. I would like to know if the Lovetuner has any sensation of vibration when used? My daughter is autistic and I think this would be great for her.

  • Tori Says:

Hi Angela, It has a very minimal vibration. Less than a standard harmonica. I hope that's helpful.

  • Jamie Blume Says:

Two questions...1st-I have your product and love it, but it gets stuck to the point I cannot remove it. Thoughts? 2nd-Do you sell these wholesale if i want to use for my business? Thanks!

  • Mike Says:

Hi Jamie! Glad to hear you're getting your zen. For cleaning, try using a musical instrument mouthpiece sanitizer. That should help.

And yes we do sell these wholesale, if you aren't already, you can apply to be one of our Retailers here.

  • Martha Says:

I have been debating for a long time on buying this. I do physical therapy 3 days a week. I have some chronic pain from a procedure I had done. My problem is while doing PT I have a tendency of stiffing up and being tense because of the pain. My question is by using the lovetuner during Therapy would it help me to relax and tensing up

  • Andrea Says:

I love the idea of this! But im wondering if blowing will have any affects on dogs' ears like a dog whistle?

  • Mike Says:

    Hi Andrea,

We have not had any comments about that. It is not high-pitched but a very calming tone. It sounds similar to a harmonica note.

  • Tra'shell Says:

This past weekend I picked up a "Love Turner" at California Kindergarten Conference in Santa Clara California. While walking around the exhibits, I was drawn to a booth with cute little black boxes. The women there was very friendly. Her presentation of the Love Turner was amazing and the sound was even more. I looked to my friend and said, "The sound calls me to a relaxing attention. On Monday I thought I would try to use it in my Pre-kindergarten class as a calming tool between transitions. OMG it worked!!!! On top of it all, my children had been in all day due to a rainy day. I would love to tell Sigmar and Tom personally Thank you for this sweet little something that made a Prekindergarten teacher and her students rainy day shine. We really hope this message gets to Sigmar and Tom.
From a teacher who loves teaching and now with a sweet little sound

  • Mike Says:

Thank you so much for sharing this, Tra'shell! This is amazing. We will definitely make sure Sigmar and Tom see this!
