The Field Is Ready - Let's Meet Our Teams! Part II

banner

We recently shared some thoughts from our first four teams from the Ready for Crowdfunding category who will be pitching at Fenway Park on Thursday, March 20th. All final eight teams will present their products and have the opportunity of a lifetime to pitch to press, businesses and other influencers. We're in full swing with the regular season and can't wait to meet our finalists. Below read more about the four finalists who won crowd favorite in the Ready for Market category.

Repel Gear Active by Repel Gear, LLC

Product Pitch Competition | repelgear

Repel Gear Active are seat covers that dirt-proof your car to protect from everyday messes.

What inspired you to create your product that you're bringing to Fenway on March 20th?

As active people with children, we were getting in the car dirty and sweaty on a regular basis.  The same options were always available such as draping a towel over the back of the seat while hoping it didn't fall down and bunch up behind us or using a traditional seat cover that took several minutes to put on and take off.  There had to be a better way.  We decided to launch our ACTIVE Series Seat Cover, a comfortable and stylish machine-washable microfiber towel that easily connects to the headrest in a car.  Whether we're sitting on it,  it's under a car seat, or folded up in the console, it has proven it's value time and time again.

What are you most looking forward to taking away from the event?

We are excited about the event on March 20th for several reasons but most importantly exposure.  We have an affordable and practical product, we just need to get it to people.  We appreciate the opportunity and look forward to presenting a product that can make people's lives a little easier.

Juneberry Bags

Product Pitch Competition | repelgear

Juneberry Bags are interchangeable totes that can be worn three ways: Backpack, shoulder bag and cross body.

What inspired you to create your product that you're bringing to Fenway on March 20th?

I was inspired to create Juneberry Bags in order to accommodate a need many women have for creativity and versatility in a handbag. I thought it would be wonderful not to have to switch bags every time I wanted a different color, pattern, or style of wearing the bag, and I assumed other women would agree. So Juneberry Bags was born.

What are you most looking forward to taking away from the event?

What I'm most looking forward to gaining from this great opportunity is connections to knowledgeable and resourceful people who I might not have the chance to meet on a normal basis. I'm also looking for advice on marketing ideas, inspiration and more that will come out of the wonderful day that's planned. And, of course, the press is great, too!

The Compost Shredder by Ecotonix

Product Pitch Competition | repelgear

The Compost Shredder lets you to compost in a clean, easy way from your kitchen counter.

What inspired you to create your product that you're bringing to Fenway on March 20th?

I was inspired to create this product while researching quick and easy ways to feed my organic garden. Composting is an inexpensive, practical and completely natural solution to many garden problems and it's a critical step toward solving our current environmental crisis. What many people don't  know is that the secret to making fast and healthy compost is shredding the compost. With this knowledge, I researched for a product to grind kitchen scraps but I needed something that would sit tastefully on the counter and remind my own kids to stop throwing away things like banana peels and watermelon grinds. I soon realized that such a product simply didn’t exist and it surprised me, given how popular composting is. So I got to work trying to make one for myself using a combination of recycled grinders, ice-chippers and housings from old paper shredders. Little did I know that I was launching a three-year research and development project!

What are you most looking forward to taking away from the event?

I'm looking forward to matching wits with like-minded folks who share a passion for invention. Press, connections and wise guidance are a super-bonus!

Litter One

Product Pitch Competition | repelgear

What inspired you to create your product that you're bringing to Fenway on March 20th?

I was inspired to start Litter One for my own purposes at first. I have always owned cats and I hated cleaning out the litter box. I made my own disposable box with the pine pellet litter. Three years and many prototypes later it transformed into what it is today.

What are you most looking forward to taking away from the event?

I am so excited to be given the opportunity to compete with all of the other great teams! I am looking for a memorable experience that can help me improve my business and myself. It would be great to receive press, make important connections, learn more about marketing techniques and to receive feedback about my presentation and my product.
