You don't have to be a superhero

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and here at Daily Grommet we feel humbled to help support the efforts to bring awareness to such a cause. It is easy to be inspired to help but often a bit daunting when trying to  figure out exactly how to make a difference. Today's post points out that you don't have to be a superhero to help.

The folks at The Hyatt Regency Boston have made it really simple to make a big impact. They are donating $1 to The Ellie Fund, for each of the next 2,000 new fans to "LIKE" Hyatt Regency Boston's Facebook page this month. You can make a difference with one click, literally.

What is The Ellie Fund?

Eleanor (“Ellie”) Popkin of Newton passed away after a courageous nine year fight with breast cancer. The Ellie Fund was founded by her sons Jeff and Eliot to honor her fight for hope and her giving spirit that touched everyone she knew throughout her life.

A Newton resident for more than thirty years, Ellie volunteered at the local library and visited children with terminal illnesses at Children’s Hospital, was a Den Mother for the local Boy Scouts of America, an active member of Hadassah, and a beloved pre-school teacher.

In honor of Ellie’s fight for hope, and her giving spirit that touched everyone who knew her, the mission of The Ellie Fund is to fight breast cancer and ease its effects on women and families across Massachusetts.

The Ellie fund is just one example of an organization working tirelessly to fight Breast Cancer all year long, not just in October. The Hyatt Regency Boston is making it simple to support their cause - one click, it will cost you nothing. So, be sure to "Like" them on Facebook and add another $1 to The Ellie Fund.

Do you know of a company or organization making it a bit more simple to help support Breast Cancer Awareness this month?
