Fit to be tucked

With a nod to Donna Karan’s famous bodysuit and an eye towards comfort and accessibility, Tamar Daniel created the Bradamant Body Suit, an updated one-piece shirt sure to become a wardrobe staple. At once both classic and contemporary, a well-tucked blouse is slimming and elongating. But as a woman’s wear designer (formerly at Top Shop and Anthropologie), Tamar's challenge was designing a shirt that would stay in place. The clean lines of the Bradamant look crisp, yet the Italian Jersey fabric is soft to the touch. More comfortable than snaps, the adjustable hook and eye closures are positioned for easy access and convenience. A slender fit through the hips is designed to flatter. At work or play, you’ll reach for the Bradamant over and over, but never have to tuck it in.

Hi there, my name is Tamar Daniel and I’m the founder of Bradamant. I spotted an underserved category in fashion for women who need to look professional and polished and still feel comfortable all day- and all at a reasonable price. I took my background designing knits for TOPSHOP and Anthropologie and go to work designing a collection of perfect modern bodysuits. We didn’t invent the bodysuit, but we certainly improved it.

I’d be glad to take any questions you may have, I want to tuck you in!

Hi, Tamar. I, too, love body suits...especially when they fit and feel good. What is the torso length for a size medium? Thx!

@Laurie So happy to hear we've got a bodysuit lover here!

The torso length varies on each style depending on how the style is cut, but typically runs anywhere from 20"-25".

    Specifically:

The Diplomat size M: 24" (shoulder to the top of the hook and eye closure)

The Gamine size M: 25" (shoulder to the top of hook and eye closure)

The Coquette size M: 20 1/2" (shoulder to the hip seam -where the body and panty meet)

Our hook and eye offers 3 rows of choices to accommodate many torso lengths too!

For general size information, each style has a link to our size guide, and we're always happy to hear from you regarding your specific fit, just shoot us an email at : [email protected]

    Cheers!

I have something like this, but it's not made for people with a long waist. It's pulled tight, like your model on her left side. How ever it is made of 100% cotton. If you have some made with 100% cotton, and for long waisted people. I can't wear the plastic, and nylon. Thank You!

Cotton styles are on there way as well!

We definitely have you long-waisted ladies in mind. Traditionally it was difficult for anyone with a longer torso to fit into a bodysuit, but that's something we've been working on.

One of the ways the Bradamant Bodysuit allows for different torso lengths is with our multi-option hook and eye closure - just like on your bra!

Another way is through our ambassador program, where we put our bodysuits on women of all shapes and sizes. This way we can always refer our customers to the right bodysuit for them!

We'd be happy to point you to the styles made specifically for a longer waists!

I'd like to know what keeps the panty part of the body suit from riding up and giving you a wedgie or panty line? The only panties I have ever found that stay put are made by Soma and they have a flat/seamless rubberlike tape on the inside of the legs under the butt. How about yours?

Great comment Ellen, this is something we address everyday here at Bradamant.

The Gamine, The Diplomat, and The Coquette all have a lightweight elastic around the leg opening to keep the panty from riding up, but not show a VPL (visible panty line).

We have styles in the works with what's called a bonded or laser cut edge, it has no elastic so the finish is completely flat and clean. Check back soon!
