Kitchen Papers and KnobStoppers

The More the Merrier and Now the Fancier

Hester and Cook Design Group was founded by Robbie and Angie Cook, a husband and wife team who celebrate the charm of the past while interpreting it for today’s modern lifestyle. Their first product, the knobstopper, was born over a bottle of wine with friends. Robbie picked up a vintage doorknob and placed it on top of the wine. "This would make a great wine stopper," he proclaimed.

Robbie and Angie later expanded their offerings to include fancy kitchen papers. Designed and printed in Nashville, Tennessee, the papers
are adorned with original and vintage artwork. The designs come in a variety of styles and work well together. Mix them up to create a dramatic effect. The collection will inspire you to create a stunning table setting without the guilt of using disposable placemats, coasters and serving papers. After all, the papers are printed using 30% recycled paper and soy-based ink. Plus they’re recyclable if there’s no food on them or compostable if there’s some food on them.

The Kitchen Papers come in bulk on a gummed pad, so they’re perfect for those times when you’re hosting a crowd and don’t have enough linens for everyone. They make clean-up a breeze. Doesn’t that just take the cake?

Grommet Launch Conversation

Hi Daily Grommet fans. My husband and I love to translate the treasures of the past into items for our modern life. We believe that life is too short not to live with beautiful things. If you are as taken with the charm and beauty of vintage pieces as we are, we know you will love to bring our products into your home and into your celebrations. Let me know what questions you have.

Angie, I entertain A LOT and I cannot wait to use these! I love the idea of using the placemats to dress up an adult table but also using the same placemats to make a kids' table a lot more fun!

(and the vintage doorknob wine stoppers will make perfect Hostess gifts!)

Thanks Tori! The Kitchen Papers work in so many settings ..... it is fun to see how many ways you can use them. Also wanted to mention that the KnobStoppers are great to use every day in the kitchen in olive oil or vinegar bottles ... not just for the wine drinker, but a great gift for the cook in your life!

I just recently purchased the fork, knife and spoon kraft table runner roll and a pad of placemats at Paris Market in Savannah, GA. I am totally in love with it...and really mad that I did not think of the idea. I have been using vintage design elements for a long time in my work. This product is genius.

@tbg design : I love that Paris Market too....what a treasure trove in the heart of Savannah! I can totally see them carrying Hester and Cook. And...I am sure you will design your own killer idea soon...and probably already have.

@Jean Spelman: What a wonderful way to add something new to meal times. You should share this find with visitors. I know friends and relatives are always looking for that special something that will bring a smile to the day.

Is the word Cake on all the papers, or just the top sheet? Kinda ruins it for me.

I came across this video and am absolutely in love with these. I need to know whether these are all re-usable and if yes, what is the wash and care instruction or is it just one time use papers ? please clarify.

    thank you,

@Kal: We're so glad you love our products. Our Kitchen Papers are designed to be disposable, and can be used as long as the papers still look nice! There are no wash or care instructions for them. Enjoy!
