Wrap Away the Pain

Daniel Godfrey knows a thing or two about perseverance. After a decade working at Nike, Daniel started his own company in his garage and sold his first products out of the back of his pickup truck. Lucky for him, he had just the right gear to soothe his aching muscles after some long days in startup mode. Daniel’s company, Caldera, makes innovative therapy products that provide relief for aching muscles and joints. Caldera’s adjustable wraps, made from an anti-bacterial fiber, are designed to hug the contours of your body (shoulders, knees, ankles, hamstrings, elbows, shins). It’s a two-part system. The wraps work in tandem with Caldera’s latex-free Therapy Gel packs, which can be applied either hot or cold. If you want to alternate hot and cold therapy, you can keep one nontoxic gel pack in the freezer and heat a second one in the microwave. The gel packs fit inside each sleeve which contours to the body to effectively deliver the hot or cold treatment. At one time or another we all have to deal with the aftereffects of an injury, a tough workout or a long day at work. Caldera’s hot-and-cold therapy solutions can help stave off the sore and get you back out for more.

Daniel, You have just found an appreciate friend and future customer. I'm dealing with plantar fascitis and need to ice down my ankles!

Just not sure which one of your items is the right one for that.

    Thanks!

    Hi Bonnie,

Thanks for the question. With out knowing the size of your foot/ankle, it's hard to tell you exactly which of the Universal Wraps to purchase. However, you need either a Medium (best selling due to it's size) or the Small (intended for children and small adults).

Let me know how I can further assist.

@Daniel Godfrey: I, too, have plantar fasciitis in both of my feet, and I have been looking for something to easily ice my feet down at the end of the day. I'm excited to receive these!

    Hi Daniel,

I'm definitely interested in buying your product. It has all the features I want (secure fit, anti-microbial), I'm just not sure what to buy. I recently had shoulder surgery so I know I definitely want the small Universal wrap (I'm a very petite female), but I also want the back wrap and I'm not sure if it will be to big. It doesn't appear that this comes in different sizes. Can you give any suggestions?

    Hi Linda,

Thanks for the question. Your right on with the Small Universal Wrap Truly a great product with many applications.

As for the back, the great thing about all of our products is that they're Velcro compatible. So even if the Wrap is a little big for you it will wrap around your body with a secure fit. We also offer a 36" Elastic Ext. which will help add additional support for you.

Most Back Wraps on the market today only include one 4x9 gel pack. Caldera includes 2 6x10 Therapy Gel packs which will cover your entire lower back.

    Enjoy!

    Hi Ellen,

We actually have three products that are designed for the shoulder. Our Universal Wrap Product line is what your looking at and we have three sizes, L, M, S. The Large includes a 10x15 TherapyGel, The Medium includes a 6x10, and the Small includes a 6x6 TherapyGel.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

My 14yr old son has Osgood Schlatters disease which affects his right knee. Everyday after football practice he ices his knee down, I am very interested in buying this product for him i am just unsure as to what size to get him for his knee? thank you!

    Hi Ilyssa,

Thanks for the question. Again, it depends on how big your 14 year old son is. If he is an average size young man, then I would get him the Medium Universal Wrap. As he grows and continues his involvement in Athletics, he may need to switch over to the Large Universal. For now I'd go with the Medium Wrap with an extra 6x10 gel pack to keep in the freezer. Enjoy and let me know how he likes it.

    Thanks.

    Hi Daniel:

You might have covered this in some of the earlier questions but I'd just like to make sure I get the right size. I'm looking for a wrap that I can use for both knee and ankle. I'm 5'3" and 120#. From the earlier questions I'm guessing a Medium Universal Wrap would work for either/both?

    Thank you!

    Hi Natalie:

Thanks for the question. Actually based on your height and weight I would probably recommend the Small Universal Wrap for you with an extra 6x6 TherapyGel. This will work on both your knee and ankle. Thanks for your business. Enjoy.

Hi Daniel - this looks like an Excellent product. My question concerns the material used in the wraps. I have a latex sensitivity and cannot use many of the wraps and bandages available on the market. The fabric looks like neoprene, which I am also sensitive to so I would like to verify the exact composition of the wrap itself.

    Hello Heidi,

Thanks for the question. All of our Therapy Wraps are made from a Veltex fabric not neoprene. All Caldera Therapy Wraps are completely latex free.

Let me know if I can answer any more of your questions.

    Regards,

    Daniel

The presentation for this product would have been much more effective if you had stated what size was being used in each of the examples shown. That would have given people a better idea of what size to order & might have resulted in fewer questions. Also you have NO dimensions listed for the rib/back wrap or it's gel pack & NO example of someone using it. This is a huge omission, a huge blunder when you're trying to sell something on line!

@Jo: Thank you for the feedback. We are always happy to hear how we can do things better. We are a small team putting together a new feature to share every day and we will be the first to admit that we make mistakes and can always do better. The dimensions and other detailed information for any of our features can be found on the Details tab that is located below the video but above the story. The dimensions of the rib/back wrap are:

Back, Ribs & Abdomen Therapy Wrap: 7" x 45"; with elastic extension

Includes two 6" x 10" Therapy Gel pack.

I am using the shoulder wrap to ice my shoulder prior to having an arthroscopy. It works so well that I am able to sleep on that side. I have recommended it to several of my friends and am showing it to my orthopedic surgeon. My question is whether the large will fit someone who weighs 250 pounds?
