Cat Crib

Hammock Lounger

Cat's Cradle

Greg Hora’s invention takes the idea of a catnap to new places—under chairs, stools, and side tables. His Cat Crib is a hammock that attaches to furniture legs, creating a cozy hideaway for feline friends.

As a cat hangout, the Cat Crib can be hidden and enclosed, just the way cats like it. It creates a comfy place to cuddle and the perfect vantage point for cats who like to keep watch. The machine-washable hammock is fleece on one side and nylon on the other side, and it has four Velcro straps for fastening.
Compared to other cat furniture, it hangs out of sight and won’t clutter your living space.

The inspiration for Greg’s creation is Vladimir, a cat who tore the lining underneath a bed and an upholstered chair to create private perching places for himself. With the Cat Crib, pets like Vladimir can sit pretty without ruining the upholstery.

Hello everyone, I hope your day is going great! I'm super excited to team up with The Grommet to bring you the Cat Crib. The inspiration for the Cat Crib came from my very own cat Vladimir (he is the handsome fellow in the photos). We wanted a cat bed that wouldn't take up a lot of space in our home or be an eyesore...you've probably seen the carpet covered options at your local pet store. The Cat Crib blends nicely into your existing furniture so you don't sacrifice any floorspace and your kitty will have a nice place to sleep. Its patented design cradles your cat and won't slip down the chair's legs. I look forward to answering your questions!

My cat is just over 20 pounds. Will he be too big for this?

@Mary Hello Mary! We've tested the Cat Crib with a 20 lb dumbbell and it didn't slip (you can see the video on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skgyeIHGf-g). If your cat is just over 20 lbs and the chair legs you're going to put it on are square and similar in size to the ones seen in the video, it should be ok.

My cat is very shy but loves to lay under tables. beds & watch the birds outside. This sounds like the perfect thing for her. I just hope she's not too big for it. She weighs 16 pounds, very furry..

@Cindi Hello Cindi! We've tested it to 20 lbs (and Vladimir is a bit on the heavy side...). Your kitty should be fine!

I'd like to buy one - but I can't figure out how to add it to my cart! I really wish Grommet hadn't redesigned the website. I find it very un-user friendly. I guess I'll have to buy one from Amazon instead.

I have to agree with you on the redesign. I can't find how to write a review on a product I've purchased and love.

    @Kay and Sabrina

I agree that it's a little less intuitive to purchase from this splash page. Click the Shop button in the photo underneath the video at the top of this page.

Looks like a cool product! I wish the straps were long enough for it to fit under a piano bench, that would be the best vantage point in my house. I'm considering getting one for a dining room chair.

    Hi All,

Thanks for your feedback here. We sincerely appreciate your thoughts on our site redesign and please know that we are taking everything into consideration. The other commenters here are correct; if you simply click on "Shop" which is the orange button, you'll be able to learn more about that specific product and add to cart.

@Amy I am also finding it very difficult to purchase this product, which is a shame. I clicked on "shop" and I was taken to a list of categories. When I chose "pet products", I came to a list of about 16 items, none of which was this one. I clicked on "recent launches" and was brought back to this page where the problem started. :(

Hmmm - I'm not even seeing a shop button under the video. The buttons I see are for Pinterest, facebook, twitter or email. I'm on a Mac - maybe you're website developers didn't test the page on Macs? Not to continue ragging on Grommet, but specifically for Rae - if you buy it from Amazon it's the same price with free shipping. Sorry Grommet.

@Amy @Sabrina @Jeanne and others. The Grommet co-founder here...rest assured I am paying close attention to these comments about how hard it is to figure out how to find our "shop" button. Yikes!

The last thing I want you to do is go over to Amazon...we support our Grommets not compete with them. Here's an interview (from yesterday, see the link below) that tells you more about that point and why we hope you stick with us as we work through kinks on the new site.

Amazon is great for routine purchases where you just want the best price. But as consumers, we need some alternatives or we won't like what we end up with if everything is controlled by a couple giant retailers---we need to create and support businesses like ours that promote very different values and level the playing field for the little guy.
