Sky-High Creativity

Want to unplug your kids and watch their imaginations reach new heights? Let them loose with CitiBlocs, top quality building blocks engineered like no others. The founder of CitiBlocs, Marjorie Israel Chayette, knew what child experts and educators have advocated for years: Open-ended, free play is key to unlocking a child’s boundless creativity. Building blocks facilitate fundamental hand/eye coordination and tune fine motor skills for preschoolers, while fostering innovation, focus and self-esteem in older children. With fun and learning in mind, Marjorie created CitiBlocs with a design that requires no glue, no snaps, no connectors and no magnets. They’re made from pine grown in renewable forests in New Zealand and China. They’re not treated with any chemicals, and they’re certified nontoxic. Each lightweight block is precision cut to the exact same shape and size every time, allowing for easy balancing and stacking. Gravity, balance and ingenuity are all you need for hours of entertainment for kids and grownups. No batteries required.

    GREETINGS from Paris! CitiBlocs travel! Traveling introduced me and especially my handy kids to all kinds of building blocks. When the boys started carrying their blocks around and even painting them bright colors, we all realized that it was time to develop CitiBlocs for the US market. It was a lot of fun selecting HOT and COOL colors for these precision cut wooden blocks. It was exciting plus a huge learning curve to travel to the far East to start production. The blocks are sleek lightweight 100% natural pine. They are all exactly the same size and shape. Building requires no glue, or snaps or connectors – kids build from scratch straight out of the box. It was also a lot of fun emphasizing "urban" design. With CitiBlocs, kids can plan and build their own skylines and cityscapes. Over and over again – it's just as much fun to knock them down and start building again – gravity and imagination required! Multiple Award Winning Construction Blocks – perfect for budding architects, artists, designers, engineers, city planners and builders of all ages. Building with CitiBlocs gets taller as the kids grow – and our towers now are 6 feet tall – still no glue. CPSIA tested of course! I am here for your questions!

    I've noticed that my 2 year old grandson gravitates to the few colored building blocks he has. The hot colored blocks will be a great birthday present! As an added bonus, I'll notice them 'under foot' sooner!

    @Bonnie Dufault: Hello Bonnie - you're right - these handy blocks are light weight and a great shape for little hands -- toddlers can grab and stack and start experimenting with gravity and balance. It's built in learning

    Thanks for sharing the importance and wonder of playing with and building with precision-cut CitiBlocs! You really got the points across of how much fun these are--addictive, really! Made me want to get out some blocks and build! My son is now 13 but has always loved building with wood blocks and it does a mom's heart good.

    My kids have these and they love them! I have to admit that I may play with them as much as they do. I used to be a building contractor and a bit of a frutrated architect, so CitiBlocs allow me to build anything my heart desires.

    A great product and a ton of fun.

    I don't see anything about the finish and safety in the mouth... which you know is exactly where they'll go when a younger sibling crawls into the room. How SAFE are they?

    @Ruth: They are CPSIA compliant which means they've been tested to be safe for kids - even the ones who put everything in their mouths!

    @Ruth: Hi Ruth All of our blocks have been thoroughly tested and are completely safe and non-toxic. The natural blocks have no finish on them whatsoever- just all natural wood! And the colored blocks are made with a water-based paint that is, again, completely safe and has been 100% safety tested. Everything we make has been tested to comply with all CPSIA rules and regulations. So rest assured when those little ones crawl into the room and reach for a block...and while the blocks are too big to pose any risk for a choking hazard (they are roughly 4" x 1" x 1/2"), the boxes are labeled as ages 3+. Again- the blocks are completely safe- we've got them scattered all over the place- our black lab eats them all of the time!

    @Marjorie Israel Chayette:

    I am sorry if this seems negative, but there is still no information on the type of paint or finish used on the blocks. I don't necessarily go by the standards of the U.S. or anyone else. I want to know what my nieces and nephews are putting in their mouth. Please reply.

    For ex: I paint with NO voc products.

    thanks for your response

    @coleen: Citiblocs Hot and Cool Color Blocks are stained with certified water-based, non-toxic paints and tested by third party laboratories as required by US and European Toy Safety Regulation Standards. The paint has no odor. We purchase our paint from a certified reputable source and can guarantee that kids (and pets and grown-ups) can chew on Citiblocs to their hearts content! Natural Blocks have no varnish or paint whatsoever.

    This is a legacy toy. It will be something that will stay in the family through generations. Its also scalable as it can be played with in ever more sophisticated ways as the child grows older.
