Like many women, Kim Nimsgern loves the polished look of a salon blowout. Inspired to achieve similar results at home, she created Click n Curl, a set of six large brush heads with a detachable handle that acts like a styling brush, then with a click, doubles as volumizing old school rollers. Styling with Click n Curl is simple. One area at a time, wind hair around the brush roller, blow dry on a heated setting, and release the head from the ergonomic handle. While the barrels cool, the molecular structure of the hair retains the curl, so volume is locked into place. At the same time, you're already on to styling the next section of hair, just like the pros do it. The stiff bristles are gentle on hair, but strong enough to hold without clips, and the ceramic coating minimizes frizz and heat damage. This innovative styling tool dries, styles and sets all at once.

Years ago, I was using a cheap round brush when the heat from my blower dryer melted the glue that kept the brush head attached to the handle. My frustration was quickly replaced by excitement when I saw how voluminous my hair looked, thanks to the brush's malfunction. Just like that, a business was born, simply because I was determined enough to pursue it. I truly believe the Click n Curl is a great addition to every woman's beauty routine - I look forward to hearing your thoughts and answer questions.

This looks wonderful and I'd love to try it, but I'm wondering if additional detachable brush rollers can be purchased separately? Six is just not enough for me!

Hello @Scarlett. Yes! We have three sizes and each size comes in both the full set with 6 barrels and a handle and also an add on set which includes just 4 additional barrels. This allows you to mix and match and create a set that's just right for you. So glad you're interested! Thanks.

@Kim Sorry for my confusion, but when I go to purchase I only see Medium and Large sizes, and I don't see the option you're talking about for add-on sets. Am I missing something?

@Jennifer @Scarlett My fault. The add-on sets are not available on The Grommet at this time but may be in the future if there is enough interest. You might want to give a full set a try first. You might be surprised how far 6 rollers will go. Plus, they cool so fast that by the time I have the 6th roller set, the first one is cool enough to remove and use on a different section of hair. You might find that one full set is plenty.

Same question as Gina. My hair is about the same length as Kim's but has some shorter layers on the sides and back. would i need a medium or a small?

@marcy I use the medium size for my hair. My hair is layered and shoulder length. If your layers are at least 5 or 5.5 inches long, the medium size will work great!

@Kim Hi, I was just wondering if you have much problems with tangling? I think it is a great idea, because not only does it help set your hair, it also helps you to separate and keep hair out of the way so that you can style your hair easier and better.

  • Kim

@Suzy Very common concern and a good question. Tangling generally happens when you catch hair that is not part of the section you are working with. It's hard to explain in words but the Click n Curl YouTube Channel has a short Tips and Tricks video. Basically, when putting the roller in your hair pull the section up and out and roller to your scalp. Take the roller out the same way - unroll it up and out instead of pulling it down. Hope that helps.

I have very thick (VERY), long hair and this seems like it would be perfect... My only experience with rollers has been that my hair gets caught in them and tangled terribly and pulling the rollers out really damages my hair. That mostly happens with curling irons, actually. Is that not going to happen with these?

  • Kim

    7/16/2014 3:04 PM

Hi @Mitzi. You will find that our bristles are softer than most which also helps prevent the brush from getting stuck in the hair. I can't promise it won't happen because, I hate to say it, but tangles are typically the result of user error more than product design flaws. The tips I shared with @Suzy will help you as well. I really hope it works for you!

@Guest Yes. Customers with fine hair love Click n Curl! The barrel as very light the long bristles help hold the roller in place. With thin hair, it is important that your hair is long enough to wrap around the barrel at least once.

Wow. This is just genius. I have actually left several brushes in my hair (with the handles) to get the effect of this amazing invention. I hate curling irons and hot rollers. I ordered this and I cannot wait to try it! I am so happy that you actually made this great idea into something that works!
