Give-Back Blanket

The folks at Coalatree created the Kachula blanket for two reasons—to give on-the-go people like them a versatile, packable blanket, and to give back to their community. Each blanket is water- and wind-resistant and transitions quickly into a poncho (complete with attachable hood) or a travel pillow. It’s the perfect multifunctional tag-along for trips to the beach and park, or more outdoorsy adventures like hiking and camping. And Coalatree puts proceeds from Kachula blanket sales back into making more of them, to give to homeless people in their Salt Lake City, Utah community. They’re committed to helping the environment, too, so they use fabrics made with a blend of recycled materials as well as sustainable and organic fibers. The result is a lightweight, packable design that is equal parts soft and sturdy—that works well and does good, too.

@Kathy The blanket is 50" X 72" and you can simply snap the hood onto the blanket to convert it to a poncho.

You say it is "water resistant". How well does it perform in

    heavy rain?
