Loopit Tangle-Free Earbud Necklace

Hidden Headphones

Your days spent unknotting wires are over. Loopit Headphones are designed to untangle themselves—and can double as a necklace, too.

With just a few shakes, it’s knot-free and ready to use. The lack of tangles is thanks to strategically placed magnets that connect the earbuds and the audio jack. Take creator Vanessa Chan’s word
for it—she researched wire knots to figure out how to prevent them.

She learned that tangles are most likely to occur when headphones are loose. She also discovered the tangle-fighting magnetic closure has another benefit—it acts as a clasp that lets you wear Loopit as a necklace, and easily transition into headphone action.

Have your headphones handy and knot-free—all while it looks like you’re wearing a necklace.

I love this idea! But most ear buds hurt my ears....due to my very small head! So--wondering if this chain would be heavy and pull on the ear buds? I'm also wondering what kind of ear buds are included. Thanks for your time!

@Kate Thanks for being the first comment! I have TINY ears (my husband teases that is why I sometimes don't hear him) and every loopit comes with three different sized silicone tips to fit any ear size & shape. The smallest size are perfect for me and my 7 and 10 year old daughters. I also got rave feedback from three customers who have had issues with most earbuds but LOVE the shape and design of the loopit earbud and are the only ones they have been able to wear comfortably. I have yet to have a return because of earbud discomfort :-). The chain is also not heavy - its made of lightweight aluminum so you can even wear it through airport security. I've never had an issue with mine falling out. If you are worried about weight though, then the black cord is lighter. Thanks for your support and your comment!

Great idea - but how is the sound with these earbuds?

@Karen I'd like an answer to that question as well. I'm very particular about sound quality.

@Karen Thanks for the question. The sound quality is top notch and I went through 40+ different manufacturers until I could find one that had the sound quality that I wanted. This was really important to me since I use my earbuds for conference calls and movies all the time. I was really happy when I had a booth at SXSW and musicphiles were amazed at the sound quality for the price and one musician told me, "The bass is wicked!" Everyone has loved the sound quality which I'm thrilled with since we did source a more expensive earbud to ensure that was the case.

@Vanessa Can you tell me the frequency response of these? That would give me a solid reference point. Just know they "sound great" is too subjective - what sounds good to the goose may not sound as good to the gander!

@Don - Thanks for sending over a technical question :-) We had a 3rd party laboratory test the earbuds and the frequency response is 20Hz-20kHz which is perfect since this represents the normal audible musical frequency range for humans. As I'm sure you know, a wider range won't represent better sound quality. We also designed the earbud shape so they fit snuggly into the ear. As such, it really does a good job blocking ambient sound which allows you to enjoy your music better. When I'm wearing these, if someone is talking to me, I have to take one of the earphones out to hear what the person is saying because it really blocks out background noise. Like you said, "sounds great" is subjective but I am thrilled that my customers consistently tell me they love the sound which was by design!

    Hi, Vanessa,

    What a terrific idea!

I can only wear Apple earphones.

Is there away to change out the earbuds in your Loopit?

    Thank you!

@Britannia Thanks for loving the idea! I looked into the Apple earbud shapes but Apple has strong patents on their earbud design so unfortunately I can't change out the earbuds to be Apple ones without infringing on their patents. That said, I was a diehard Apple earbud user and designed loopit so that the earbuds would be super-duper comfortable. The other upside of loopit is they won't make gargantuan knots like other traditional earbuds so give it a try - you really will love joining the tangle-free universe :-)

I am allergic to nickel. Would I have to get the black cord Loopit?

Hi Carolyn, the necklace is made with aluminum not nickel so you should be good to go!

    Vanessa-

WOW! Just WOW! It's amazing how much I always hated my earbuds and never even THOUGHT that there might be an alternative! This is brilliant! I absolutely love how it looks like a necklace but still looks great in your ears. That had to be quite the challenge. Kudos on such a fantastic product! Keep working!! Thank goodness for people like you...and grommet!

Does the microphone have pause and volume controls on it?

@Sue - the microphone does not have pause and volume controls on it but a mute button so when you are on conference calls you can mute to have a conversation with someone in the room with you. Thank you for the question!
