Rise Gear

Portable Shelving Luggage System

Stack & Pack

Rise Gear luggage maximizes efficiency for people on the go. Collapsible shelves fit inside each bag, and quickly hang up at your destination. It’s like having a suitcase with a built-in closet.

Specially-sized compartments keep items organized and neat. Underwear, shoes, clothes, and even dirty laundry stay separate. Zippered
pockets hold things like toiletries, electronics, and charging cords, too.

Co-Founder Lee Renshaw had the idea for Rise Gear in college, after constant couch surfing and living out of a duffle bag. He felt disorganized, and his wardrobe looked wrinkled. He envisioned a bag with shelves, taught himself to sew, and built the first prototype.

Lee, together with his brother and Co-Founder Sean, threw themselves into the business and brought Rise Gear to life for travelers everywhere. Whether you’re on a day trip, weekend jaunt, or lengthy vacation, packing and unpacking is easier than ever before.

Hi! Great idea! Do you sell "just the insert" so that we could put it in our own existing suitcases? or would the carryon be the closest thing to that idea? Thanks!

Hi @Nicole , the carry-on version has been specifically designed to fit inside your own suitcase or rolling carry-on luggage! It can also be carried using the shoulder strap on its own.

I'm confused by the video...How do you pack your stuff? Do you pack it hanging up and then everything folds in to the bag?

  • Lee & Sean
Lee & Sean – Special Guest
    11/25/2014 1:22 PM

Hi @Terese, that's right, the best way to pack is hanging on the top of your closet door next to your clothes. When it's all packed you simply lower it into the bag, zip it up and you're done! When you get to your hotel unzip it, pull out the shelves and hang the bag and all your stuff is ready to use!

Question: the shelf liners seem really lightweight. Have you tested this product for durability? It seems like it would rip out easily...

  • Lee & Sean

    11/25/2014 1:30 PM

Hi @Kathleen, we've kept the shelves lightweight but strong by using high quality nylon fabric. We've tested the product to 50lbs, the approximate weight of a full size suitcase packed full.

    11/25/2014 1:32 PM

    @Lee & Sean Ok, thanks.

    @Kathleen no problem!

  • Kathleen
    11/25/2014 1:31 PM

I have a follow-up question, too. Is the shelving part actually attached to the bags and luggage? It looks like it is all attached. That would mean that the distance between the closet bar and the bag would have to be exact or the weight of the luggage/bag would be hanging off the bar as well. could you explain?

  • Lee & Sean

    11/25/2014 1:41 PM

No problem @Kathleen, the bag/shelves are designed to be completely hanging on the closet bar so that everything is suspended off the ground. When hanging in a closet, the hanging bag becomes a laundry hamper under the shelves for you to put dirty clothes so they are packed when it's time to go home.

    11/25/2014 1:57 PM

    Hello @Andrea,

The shelves add approximately 0.75lb to the bags

    Carry-on: 3.8lb / 1,776 cu/in

    Duffel: 5lb / 2,135 cu/in

    Rolling: 9lb / 5,400 cu /in

  • James

@James Never mind! I found the dimensions on the detailed description for each bag. Read just a little too fast the first time! ;-)

Approx. how many pairs of pants and blouses would the Roller luggage hold? Is there enough room for blows dryers and other things to fit?

An example of what you can fit:

    8 Pairs of socks

    6 T-Shirts

    2 Sweater

    4 Pants

    1 Pair of shoes

Toiletry Kit / Makeup Bag / Curling Iron in external pockets

    Travel documents, including passport

Travel accessories, including cell phone, charger, keys

Can it fit a blow dryer?

@Susan sorry I missed this, the Roller has a drop bottom that can fit larger items like blow dryers, extra shoes, a suit or dress etc.

  • John
    11/25/2014 2:07 PM

is the roller luggage considered carry on or do you have to check it

  • Kathleen

    Is the liner removable?

I usually bring a bag in a luggage to collect dirty laundry that I can pull out and wash later.

I like that the Rise Gear system does acknowledge the need to deal with laundry, but can the rise gear be laundered itself, or will there always be a dirty, uncleanable section of the rise gear for laundry?

Hi @Kathleen, the liner in the bag is not removable, however I really think you are on to something! We are going to investigate developing a removable laundry pouch like you suggest for future models. Thanks for the suggestion!

I bought this bag when you were first on Dragons Den and I absolutely love it! I have used it as carry on and it is very durable! My husband used this for three weeks when travelling in England. The only problem we have had is when we are in a room with no closet....but we have used a door frame!!!

I haven't read all the other comments yet so I'm sorry if someone else already mentioned it but hanging your goods when you stay anywhere other than home is best way to prevent bedbugs from hijacking home with you. If they are there, and you put your bag down on anything they crawl on then they are likely going home with you. Hanging things up will help prevent this. Genius idea for this and a number of other reasons!

    Lee & Sean,

We are looking at this for use in our RV. We need to be able to carry luggage with us (we live full time in an RV) but it needs to do more than just take up space. This could be an awesome solution. Can you tell me how long each bag is when they are hanging from the hook to the bottom of the bag?

Do you make any with four wheels - spinners ???
