Lifepack is an overachiever—an anti-theft backpack that charges your phone, plays music, and locks your possessions inside. Its minimalist design even uses solar energy to fuel the 2-in-1 Bluetooth speaker and two-slotted power bank. Maker Adrian Solgaard started troubleshooting after his date’s purse was stolen. He created a backpack that’d be really hard to steal and loaded it with features in the process. In addition to its superpowers, Lifepack has a super cushiony back and has many other helpful components—a key holder, built-in rain cover, and padded laptop storage to name a few. Lifepack is so rich in functionality, we call it the backpack that’s got your back.

@Adrian The cable looks as though it could be cut easily with a wire cutter. Have you tested for that? Otherwise, it's awesome!

@Karen Thanks! The cable is made of stainless steel and is very strong. It's in the red color because it's meant to act as a deterrent to stop opportunistic theft, making the thief move along to find an easier target.

@Karen actually the lock was one of the starting development points for the bag. I used to run a company producing bicycle locks and had always thought of a locking bag. Then I was on a date with a great girl and her backpack was stolen from the floor beside her chair. Laptop and all inside of it. I really liked her...so I set out to impress her with my product capabilities and here we are 18 months later :D

Included in her bag was the bluetooth speakers that I had just bought her as a gift as well, a lot stemmed from that day in Barcelona at a cafe!

    Hi

I'm so glad to see there is a black offering - my son would love this.

How much does it weigh ?

@nancy Hi :) The bag weights about 2 pounds, and the Solarbank (the 3-in-1 Powerbank Solar Bluetooth Speaker) weights a pound. So all in it's about 3. We've heard from all of our customers that it's super comfortable to wear all day.

We've heard from all of our customers that it's super comfortable to wear all day.I've worn it at tradeshows with laptop + chargers, cables, notes and more for 8-10 hours with no worries. The weight distribution is good and the straps are really comfortable :)

@Sam We've had some people request this feature - the way we designed the shoulder straps and back section it actually is very comfortable for long wears. There's a connection point between the two shoulder straps behind your neck so the stress of the straps is spread out across your back rather than being forced down pulling your shoulders back. Thus alleviating the stress on your shoulders like a typical shoulder strap would. Does that make sense?

    Hi Adrian,

Great product, with many desireable features. Obviously, quite a bit of thought went into the design and feature set. That being said, I can't pull the trigger at $269. Have you considered a speakerless version?

Is it RFID protected? Are the cable ropes embedded in the straps to prevent someone from cutting it away? Otherwise ot is an amazing backpack.

  • Adrian

    4/4/2017 12:27 PM

@debra Hi Debra, We discovered that those concerned about RFID protection already had RFID wallets so we didn't include it as a feature. We did not include a steel cable in the shoulder straps as that makes the bag more uncomfortable to wear. Also, if someone comes at you with a knife trying to cut the bag off of you, you are safer this way rather than if they turn the knife on you after they can't cut through the strap. We have the lock in the case for security :)

  • Adrian

    4/4/2017 12:29 PM

@William All 15 inch laptops fit, quite a few 17 inch laptops will fit in there. It's only some that are very tall that may struggle.

The speaker is a stereo speaker and includes a bass radiator (like a subwoofer) so the audio quality is great!
