Silicone Kitchenware

Kitchen Innovation

For Lékué (pronounced lay-kway), the perfect kitchen is where you try out new techniques, jazz up your menus, and find easy ways to make everyday recipes healthier. The company was founded in Barcelona by José María Llorente, who envisioned a thoroughly modern range of silicone kitchenware that looks as great as it performs.

Lékué's designs are focused on all sorts of users, from professional chefs to curious amateurs. The company is very picky about the silicone it uses. More elastic, smoother, and stronger than
typical silicone, Lékué silicone is safe for the microwave, oven, dishwasher, and freezer.

Function and versatility are core tenets of Lékué's products. With the foldable Steam Roaster, for instance, you can prepare anything from fish and meats to vegetables, omelets, and bread. And the foldable microwave Popcorn Popper lets you prepare fresh popcorn (without the fat and added chemicals of other microwave popcorn) then serve it right in the bowl.

Lékué tools aren’t just convenient. They help making healthier meals and snacks easier than ever.

Grommet Launch Conversation

Well, back to school is approaching fast and furious so let’s all get prepared. I am so delighted that the Daily Grommet has elected to feature some of our Lekue items. My name is Tara Steffen. I am a southern belle who likes the idea of Martha Stewart, cooking, gardening, decorating but at the same time I'm a full-time working, traveling mom with a 4 ½ year old boy at home. The days of cooking nice meals are few and far between in our household so the Lekue products have actually helped our family have healthy, quick meals at home – no more fast food or ordering pizza for us!

You all know the drill – Soccer at 5:30, dance at 6:30 so where do you fit in the healthy meal for the family? We use our Lekue steam case almost every day and night – for lunch, I had salmon which took about two minutes and it was fabulous!!! For dinner, I made tomato sauce for over noodles – it was homemade and only took six minutes with barely any clean-up. What a stress relief to be able make a healthy meal fast . Now I might actually lose some of this baby weight! (oh yeah – he is almost 5 but it still sounds good). I am here to help you and would love to answer any questions you may have for me today!

I freeze a lot of soups. The bags look like they would nicely store flat in the freezer. I'm assuming that you can put the frozen bag of soup directly in the microwave and then pour the heated contents into a bowl. How much liquid can they safely hold? If they aren't vented I imagine they might explode if filled too full or if the contents were over heated. I love the concept of these items.

@ lauren - Freezing soup is perfect for the Cooking Bag. It will hold 1 quart/4 cups. Yes, you can put the frozen soup directly into the microwave and then pour into bowl. You can even make soups in the bag. When you heat the contents, please leave the bag open. Instructions will be in the packaging as well as recipes.
