Couchlet

Easy-Access Dual-USB Charging Station

Couch Charger

This couch phone charger (which works under a mattresses, too) avoids the awkward “using the phone while it’s charging in the wall” maneuver. Chris Hawker created Couchlet to wedge itself, discreetly, into crevices in sofas or beds.

The dual USB charger slips into position—like between cushions, or in that just-right spot
between the mattress and box spring—making it easy to charge and lounge at the same time.

It has a fold-out leg for extra stability and a 6-foot cable, making it easier to reach the wall outlet and wherever is your perfect charging spot.

The Couchlet is a simple problem solver that gets power where you need it. It also works great in cars, to put USB outlets in the back seat for convenient charging. This is especially useful if you have kids in the back seat!

How much power can each port deliver? 500 mA? 2.1 A? More?

Hi, it's generally considered unsafe to have a cell phone charging under your pillow or in another compressed place with limited airflow. I like this idea but wonder about the fire hazard.

@Kimberly The power supply (which is what gets hot) is at the wall. There is only a low voltage wire going to the charger.

This looks like a great idea but the video doesn't provide how this source is being powered or an demonstration how it if any external power source is needed how it would be placed within the couch? Might you be able to provide a demonstration?

Hi Sylvia, you simply plug Couhlet into the wall with the accompanying USB cord. There really is no set way it needs to be placed within the couch.

@Sylvia the Couchlet comes with a 6' USB cord that you plug into your own existing charger power supply.

Hi, Chris. I like the idea! Can you give me more specifics on how much juice it puts out per USB port if both ports are in use?

    Thanks!

@Scott It splits the amps in half. If you have a 1 amp charge (like an iPhone), you'll get .5 amps per outlet. If you have a 2.1 amp (like an iPad) you'll get 1.05 amps per outlet.

    Hi Chris,

Can you tell me the mAH of this product?

@Katherine it does not have a battery, so it does not have mAH. It is a USB splitter with no internal charge.

@Ronald you use your own charger cord, so it works with any phone that uses USB.
