About Tacky Fly Fishing

Fly Right

Tacky Fly Fishing Makers, co-workers, and real-life fishing buddies Tim Jenkins and Ki Aston are both scientists as well as avid fly fishermen. While waiting for a big one (or two) to bite, they brainstormed a new and improved way to store flies. Their must-haves included better functionality, easier access, and, most of all, a secure spot for each and every fly—no tangles allowed.

The foundation of their boxes is a silicone anchoring system. Flies fit snugly into slits to keeps them tidy and in place. Clear lids make it easier to see what you’ve got, and magnetic closures keep it all safely inside. Tim and Ki really did think of everything, and every type of fishing outing. There’s a waterproof design that keeps flies dry when things get splashy, and different sized boxes to suit how long you’ll be on the water, ranging from the small-scale Tube to the largest storage box, the one Tim and Ki came up with first, The Original.
