Beats plastic

Pretty good idea. If you use it for multi purpose, like pictures show, you will get your money's worth. A bit heavy though...

Disappointed

by

I really liked the cover until it developed a crack while being used in the microwave. The cover was never dropped or banged against anything. I've only had it for 4 months. I'm so disappointed. When I first received it in the mail, I thought there might have been an imperfection in the middle of the cover but wasn't sure because the glass is textured. I'm wondering if it was damaged in the shipping or if it was defective.More > < Less

Heavy glass. Fragile!.

Have not used yet. Looks good and worthwhile, but a little heavy. Gotta give it a good try.

Dangerous!

I LOVED the idea of glass microwavable covers/bowls, and although they were expensive (maybe BECAUSE they were I thought they would be strong and resilient), I bought a whole set for me and another as a gift. I first used mine as a cover on a big bowl of black-eyed peas. After 90 seconds I took out the bowl, stirred it, and put it back for another 30 seconds. And when I removed it, the glass cover had broken! There was glass in the food, so everything was a loss. I do not for one minute think the temperature was above the 450 degrees that they claim it is good for. I would NEVER recommend these, and frankly have been put off The Grommet a bit ever since.More > < Less

About Cuchina Safe

Glass Lids

When Susan Castriota was diagnosed with breast cancer, her daughter recommended she use glass microwave lids instead of potentially harmful plastic ones. So Susan created her own durable, safer glass designs.

Cuchina Safe lids are made with strong, non-porous borosilicate glass. It won’t hold on to odors, stains, or bacteria like plastics can. And unlike some plastic lids and wrap, the glass won’t break down when it’s heated.

The vented lids can handle temps up to 450 degrees in the microwave or oven, and are great for reheating, cooking, steaming, or to use as a splatter guard. Flip the deeper glass lid over and it can double as a baking dish, while the smaller lids can work as a top for pots and pans, too.

Cuchina Safe’s durable lids are a safer alternative and handy kitchen multi-taskers, too—and we think that makes them a double good idea.
