Beautiful

This is an amazing work of art. I ordered this bowl for my daughter to go with the jumbo bowl. She also loved the yarn that comes with the bowls.

Beautiful craftsmanship

by

I was delighted to receive the yarn bowl and yarn. The bowl is made of beautiful wood and the design work is well done. A minor wish that wasish that was not met would be to have the information about the company's work included in the package. I wanted the recipient to know her gift is tied to humanitarian efforts. A note in her card sufficed, but I wanted the company to get a bit more recognition. Again, minor wish.

Have only had the best experiences with my purchases!

Very Pleased

by

I purchased the handcrafted wooden yard bowl for my daughter's forty-fifth birthday. She began to knit several years ago as a stress reliever. I wanted her to have something beautiful to touch as she works on her various projects and this bowl filled my expectations to a tee. Not only is the item beautiful, but it also something my daughter saw a few years ago and did not purchase because she thought that it was an extravagance. I never knew about her desire until she opened my gift.

Thank you so very much!

About Darn Good Yarn

Sari Yarn

The wooden yarn bowls and silk sari yarn from Darn Good Yarn are made in India by women who are paid fair wages and provided safe working conditions—because Founder Nicole Snow wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s committed to supporting women through economic empowerment as well as Fair Trade practices.

These goods that do good stand-out for being beautifully made, too. The silk sari yarn saves vintage saris destined for the dump by upcycling them into colorful yarn. Each sari is torn by hand and sewn into strips that can be knitted, crocheted, woven—or used any way you like. And Indian rosewood and teak are used to craft notched bowls that keep yarn neatly corralled.

Nicole was looking for a way to combine two loves—creativity and helping people—when she retired from the U.S. Air Force. With Darn Good Yarn, she ensures that her workforce of women isn’t just making ends meet—they’re helping their families flourish.
