Very Pretty. I like it and have been using it. I ordered one for my sister for Christmas.

Love the yarn bowl, but.....

12/3/2018 by Jess

The yarn bowl is very beautiful and well made. It is exactly what I had been looking for. The but: It clearly says on the ordering page thate that one skein of yarn, as well as a crochet and knitting pattern were included. My box contained only the bowl. I emailed them to let them know and was told: "marketing was a bit misleading in their ad copy". End result, no yarn or patterns.
So, if you want a beautiful bowl to cradle your yarn project, do order this. You won't be disappointed. If you are expecting the yarn and patterns that is says are included, just know they are not (at least not in my case).

greatest thing since sliced bread

It's pretty and works great for very small balls of yarn. That's the only drawback. It's too small for my liking

Pretty & easy to use

I love the look and function of the bowl. It is smaller than I hoped as it is too small to hold my Big Cakes yarn.

Bad Design

5/13/2019 by Cynthia

I ordered this for a friend’s birthday. The first one came in broken. Grommet was wonderful, as usual, and replaced it with a rush. The second one came in and looked like it had broken in the same place as the first but they glued it back together and didn’t even try to tint the glue. It is very weak where it starts to make the ‘curl’ that holds the yarn. An easy fix would be to drill a small hole horizontally, insert a small metal rod, fill the hole with tinted glue and sawdust. Problem solved.More > < Less

About Darn Good Yarn

Sari Yarn

The wooden yarn bowls and silk sari yarn from Darn Good Yarn are made in India by women who are paid fair wages and provided safe working conditions—because Founder Nicole Snow wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s committed to supporting women through economic empowerment as well as Fair Trade practices.

These goods that do good stand-out for being beautifully made, too. The silk sari yarn saves vintage saris destined for the dump by upcycling them into colorful yarn. Each sari is torn by hand and sewn into strips that can be knitted, crocheted, woven—or used any way you like. And Indian rosewood and teak are used to craft notched bowls that keep yarn neatly corralled.

Nicole was looking for a way to combine two loves—creativity and helping people—when she retired from the U.S. Air Force. With Darn Good Yarn, she ensures that her workforce of women isn’t just making ends meet—they’re helping their families flourish.
