Works as advertised

This does work as advertised. Need to keep a look at the amount of water in the tank if you are using it for a longer period of time.

Doesn’t cool much area

7/26/2018 by Tracy

I purchased this to cool a small bedroom, particularly the bed. Turns out it would work better cooling someone at a desk if placed directly on the desk. Instead of returning it, I do have it on my night stand cooling and being a humidifier preventing dry air for me. It goes thru the water you add fairly rapidly but prevents the air by it from being dry. I like the light as a night light and the option to shut it off. It’s actually a bit costly for what it claims to do.More > < Less

Not What I expected

7/28/2018 by Karen

I ordered this to put next to my bed. However, i found that the air was not that cold or forceful. The unit hum is very loud and disturbing. I wish it worked better. I returned my unit.More > < Less

disappointed

This device did not live up to its claim. I wanted to use it for my small bedroom and it did not seem to make a difference unless you were 2 inches away from it.More > < Less

Didn't work, returned

8/14/2018 by Sheryll

Let me start by saying that we used to live where evaporative coolers are the norm in houses rather than refrigerated air, so we knew that that product was limited even before we bought it. We wanted to cool a very small area a few degrees, and it didn't work for our application. Research the limitations of evaporative coolers before buying; they work best when the ambient temperature is under 90F and the humidity is under 30%.More > < Less

About Evapolar

Cool Off

Evapolar is a personal evaporative cooler that combines the portability of a fan with the cooling power of an air conditioner. And it has the moisture-boosting benefits of a humidifier, too.

The built-in water reservoir saturates a basalt filter (made from igneous rock and glass), creating the cool evaporation. A fan helps circulate that fresh, moist air up to about 45 square feet around you—perfect for a desktop or small room.

Biodegradable basalt is a natural material that filters dust from the air, and it prevents mold and bacteria from growing inside the unit. That makes the cool air cleaner.

Eugene Dubovoy and Vladimir Levitin were looking for a better way to beat the heat at work. They based Evapolar on the same system used in the Russian subway, and gave it a scaled-down, eco-friendly design. You can even charge the device via USB to create the perfect personal climate just about anywhere.
