Child's Play

We live in a mobile world—and we’re not talking high-tech. The Free Like Birdie toddler and baby travel system is an innovation in traveling with small children. Maker Rania Kfuri gave her lightweight Free Like Birdie travel accessories cute features like separate compartments labeled for “clean” and “dirty” items. Inside the lid is an adorable “packing guide” that uses pictures to show you what to take and where to put it. Toddlers will have fun following the pictures as they learn to pack for themselves. Rania developed Free Like Birdie from personal experience. The mother of two young girls, she and her family made frequent trips in the U.S. and abroad. She wanted something that was easy to carry, easy to clean, and easy to organize, but she couldn’t find the perfect solution. So she made it herself and named the company after her daughter, Birdie. You don’t need a little birdie to tell you how smart this toddler and baby travel system is.

Do you have a bag on wheels? Would love this for my kids to travel with but would like something they carry on their own. Something with wheels would be ideal.

Thanks for asking. The Free Like Birdie bags we are carrying do not have wheels on them.

Hi Jennifer! Thank you for your question, currently we don't have any bags with wheels. We will keep your suggestion in mind as we move forward with expanding our line. The packing charts on the inside of our Quick Change Clothes bag and Weekender are a great way to help children learn about the packing process. Even if they are not reading yet they can follow the images and feel part of the process of getting ready for an adventure. Wishing you wonderful family adventures this summer!

Will there ever be any other color choices?

@Sheila Hi Sheila, right now we only have the Birdie green color. Perhaps in the future as we expand we will have new colors. People have really enjoyed that our bags are green because it makes them easy to identify during diapering emergencies. Also, we like that green is gender neutral so you can continue to use them if you have more than one child or pass the bags on to friends and family.

@Rania Hi Penny, thank you for your very kind words! It means the world when a parent likes our product line. As I shared with Sheila, we currently have only Birdie green but perhaps we will expand our colors as we grow. We have many families of twins who write to us and share that our bags have been helpful to them, we truly appreciate their support. Wishing you all amazing family adventures this summer!

Hi Rania, I love the whole travel system! Maybe this was mentioned in the video, but are the bags washable?

@Susan Hi Susan, thank you SO much for your very kind words! The bags are washable. Many people ask us if they can go in the washing machine. I always recommend people hand wash them. Just because not every washing machine washes in the same gentle way. We recommend people hang dry them and they really dry pretty fast. I love that because when we travel and I use them, I hand wash them in the sink and hang dry them if they get dirty and they are ready to use the next morning. Hope you enjoy a wonderful rest of the summer and again, thank you!

Why is the "dirty" one so small? Everything you take ends up dirty!

@Laurie Hi Laurie, yes you are so right! We have 2 size bags shown in the video which both have a "Clean" and "Dirty" side within the same bag. Our Weekender is the larger bag and the Quick Change Clothes bag is the smaller (for one change of clothes, great for preschool). So both bags have 2 sections within the same bag and have grommets only on the "Clean" side to let out the air so the bag never gets bulky. The "Dirty" side does not have grommets and so all moisture and odor stays contained. Thank you for your question and wishing you wonderful travels!

This is a good idea, but DIRTY clothes take up MORE room than clean ones. Suggest the re-sizing of the smaller container.

@Linda Hi Linda, thank you for your kind comment! Our bags are designed to be roomy, so although it may not be so clear from the video they can really fit a lot. The Quick Change Clothes bag is really great for keeping one change of clothes for an infant or toddler organized on the go. Many families like to use it for daycare, preschool, kindergarten, summer camp or just keeping the car. We have called it our "be prepared with" bag because it helps you be prepared with a change of clothes whatever your activity. Thank you again for your kind comment and wishing you a great summer!
