Amazing Kitchen Scrubbers

There are two questions that Tal Chitayat and Heather Tomasetti ask before any new material is added to their cleaning products: Where does it come from and where will it go? Considering the lifecycle of each product is core to the mission of their company, called Full Circle. Tal and Heather only want to work with sustainable and renewable resources. And when they select suppliers to work with, they insist on clean manufacturing methods and high environmental standards. Full Circle uses fast-growing bamboo, natural bristles, recycled plastic bristles, cellulose (a plant-based fiber), and a biodegradable plant-based plastic called Bonterra. Whenever possible, Tal and Heather use replaceable components to cut back on waste. They also pay a lot of attention to how their cleaning tools look and feel in your hand. The High & Dry scrub brush is designed to stand upright, so it dries faster and reduces bacteria growth. The Laid Back dish brush is arched to keep bristles from touching the counter, and the brush heads can be replaced. The Suds Up Set comes with a bamboo handle that holds dish soap for easy dispensing, and it features an interchangeable sponge or brush head. The set also includes two head replacements for the sponge and the brush. An amazing tool and a great value.

I'm Heather Tomasetti, Co-Founder & Marketing Director at Full Circle. We're the 'new kid on the block' (or, um, in the marketplace) so I'm very excited to have this opportunity to answer any questions you may have! A few years ago a group of friends set out to create a line that was eco-friendly AND stylish AND functional AND affordable - that's right, we're trying to be game changers here. So to all the other treehuggers, clean freaks and trend hunters out there - let me know what you think!

Congratulations Tal and Heather -- you succeeded in deliverying on all 4 of those fronts. Rarely do we find products who can be eco-friendly, stylish, work well, and be affordable. I need to point out that the handles look and feel like wood, but it is bamboo. My friends who tested the Full Circle line with me wanted to steal them from me for their own homes. . .

I wanted to make a quick clarification. In the video Jen is demonstrating how you can change out the sponge heads as needed. She snapped it off in a funny way and it went flying but it did not break, those pieces are supposed to separate.

Heather, you and Tal are to be commended for your attention to the full life of your product!

Yup, the Laid Back brush is 'designed to disassemble'. This means you can separate the biodegradable parts from the non-biodegradable ones and it's also great for keeping the brush clean!

My favorite Full Circle brush is the suds up. I like the fact that it looks good on my counter. When the brush is wet I can leave it out and I don't have to hide it under my sink, in the dark, where brushes can get all stinky and moldy.

These are brilliant. I love how they can sit up on the counter. That part alone is great. Thanks, Grommet.

@easied: Great question! This is what Full Circle mentions about where their products are manufactured:

"You will notice on our packaging that we say "Sustainable. Made in China." Many might think these two things are mutually exclusive, but that is up to the manufacturer. We look at the environmental and social practices of our factories to ensure they are up to standards. And more importantly, we are on the ground making sure they keep up those standards. Want some examples? We thought you'd never ask....

    - Full Circle sources raw materials close to where all of the processes and packaging is done to minimize transportation.

    - We ensure scraps and waste materials are recycled.

    - We use recycled and FSC certified paper for our marketing materials and packaging

    - We audit our factories according to the following: fair labor practices, health & safety, compensation & work hours, environmental conditions including air and water, as well as waste disposal."
