Magnetic Frame Hanging System

Hang Confidently

Grommet Launch Conversation
-
Hello Grommet fans! Gallery Magic is the fastest and easiest way to hang framed art and solves the problem of getting perfectly aligned frames. If you're tired of using the centuries-old way of hanging framed art that uses the hook and wire and all of the frustration and problems that come along with it, you're going to want to discover and use Gallery Magic! Gallery Magic is very proudly Made in the USA!
-
Was the magnet system you use now what you envisioned from the start or were there other iterations of Gallery Magic along the way?
-
@Mike - The first idea I had for the magnet and the steel are in the final design. But....there were lots of technical elements that had to be figured out!!
-
What has been the feedback from home decorators using Gallery Magic?
-
@Mike Home decorators and designers love it because it saves them time when installing art in someone's home. Plus, the home owners love it because their walls don't get ruined with tons of nail holes!
-
I'm not clear about how many pictures can be hung with each kit.
-
@David
Hi David. Each kit hangs one wood frame. Up to 15 pounds or 24" wide. -
@Greg Is it possible to use two kits to hang a large frame that is a little heavier?
-
@Sue
Hi Sue - you can definitely use 2 kits to hang a heavier frame. Just put one toward the left corner and one toward the right corner of the frame! -
@Greg if using 2 or 3 kits to hang one item can you clarify the weight and dimension limits?
Also you said 15 pounds or 24inches wide. On the width is the issue torque when too wide due to the increased length from magnet to outer edges? (Wondering what to do if I had a hypothetical 5 pound piece that was 18x18 .)
And lastly is the 15pound limit the actual holding strength or is that accommodating for resistance to something like bumping into a piece? Ex: true strength is 25 pounds for instance but you advise 15 for margin of error as well making sure the aet stays on the wall if you add more load by someone bumping or pulling it
Thanks! -
@arik
Hello Arik. Each kit will hold 15 pounds. We give the 24" width limit because a wider frame can start to tilt. It won't come off the wall but just like with a wire and hook, it can tilt. We want people to have a great experience with no frustration so that's why we recommend the max size for one kit.
When using two kits to hang up to 30 pounds, placing them in the corners of the frame eliminates the risk of tilting.
We do have some safety margin built into the 15 pound limit. But, if someone hits it hard it can move - again, just like if you hit a frame hard that's hung with a wire! -
Great idea--do you have a version that works on metal or Neilsen style frames?
-
@Victoria
Hi Victoria. We're in the process of making a design that will work with other frame types beyond wood. Unfortunately, I don't have them just yet. -
I don't like putting holes in the wall and often use Command strips. What is your thought on using those with this product.
-
@Karen
Hi Karen. I completely hate putting holes in the wall too! That was one of my motivations for inventing Gallery Magic.
The magnet is super strong so it'll hold up to 15 pounds. The magnet is stronger than Command Strips so it'll hold onto the steel plate better than the Command Strip will hold onto the wall. That means when you move the frame, the Command Strip will likely pull off the wall and possibly take some paint with it.
I recommend using the single screw we provide to attach the magnet plate to the wall. -
Great idea. Price seems a bit high vs the cost of buying a pack of command strips. We are in the process of redecorating our home and would need about 10 of these (10 frames, although some of the larger frames may require 2 magnets). Even with the 10% discount, I'd still be looking at over a hundred bucks. Any plans to release a lower price multi pack?
-
@Michael
Hi Michael. We're working on a multi-pack version but it'll be a while before we can fund and create it. -
I have 9 12x12 pictures to hang. How many kits will I need?
-
@Phyllis
Hi Phyllis, One kit will hold up to 15 pounds or 24" wide frame so you'll need just one for each of your 12x12 frames. -
Brilliant!!!!
-
Thanks, David!
-
Greg, what are the dimensions of the plate that screws to the frame? I just want to be sure it is larger than the smallest frame I am planning to hang within a gallery wall I'm planning. Your product is BRILLIANT, and I am anxious to purchase it in a multipack (I am a decorator, and need the multipack option).
-
@Jill
Hello Jill. Thank you for the feedback - glad you like it!
The plate is 3.25 inches by 3.25 inches so even a small 4x6 frame would completely hide it. -
@Greg Thanks so much for your quick reply! I know you're working on the multipack, but do you anticipate making it available this year? After I purchase this product, I would advertise it on my social media, and I expect clients will immediately ask if it can be purchased in a multi-pack.
-
@Jill Sorry Jill for the very late response.
My guess is that I won't have the multipack this year. Probably early next year.
