AFO Flash Flyer

Frequent Flyer

It's a boomerang, it's a frisbee, it's a UFO, it's a gyroscope. Wait, which is it? Actually, it's a little bit of all of these. The AFO Flash Flyer returns to you like a boomerang, looks like a propeller, lights up automatically when in flight, and will even hover on walls or ceilings, seemingly by magic.

Okay, it's not really magic. But still, you have to hand it to Daydream Toy founder Gordon Haas for coming up with a toy that our testers just couldn't put down (or break). After recovering from a bout with cancer,
Haas ultimately decided his dream of making toys was the path he was meant to follow. His wife Monique handles much of the business, and their two young sons are in charge of quality assurance (“If they can't break it, no one can,” Gordon says).

The Flash Flyer is fun indoors or out, in daylight or in the dark (LED lights automatically turn on when it’s in flight), and there as many different ways to play with it as you can think up. We found adults were just as entranced with it as kids, and yes, even after flying up to 40 feet away, it still comes back.

Looks like fun. I like that it is self propelled and doesn't need a remote control. All of our remote control toys break very quickly.

@Kate: Its a lot of fun and my test was to give it to my 8 yr old nephew if he couldn't break it then I knew we were fine. Hope you enjoy it :)

@Brian: ok - checked the details and it does require a AG13 cell battery which is included - ready for play! Still wonder what the door in the bottom on the handle is for?

There is no battery compartment in the handle. That shot in the video must have been of a previous version, the current one has no place for batteries. This is ready to go when you get it home -- and may I recommend getting/giving at least 2? (If you just get one, there will be fighting over it).

I wanted to thank Emily for an informative conversation. I have ordered 2 flyers today and I am hoping they ship as communicated in my confirmation email.

Interesting note as communicated to Emily: These toys are listed as Waboba Tosy AFO.

I couldn't find them anywhere, using the above search information, per the listing of Top 2011 Toys for Kids...It took me quite awhile to find "Daily Grommet"

Attention Daily Grommet Sales and Marketing: You might want to make sure that your "AD SPACE" is being utilized and optimized.
