Mental Acuity Tea

Refreshingly refreshing

The founder of CogniTea, Alex Kravets, didn’t like the jittery, hyper feeling he experienced from coffee and energy drinks. While researching healthier alternatives, Alex learned that stimulants like coffee and energy drinks can actually promote beta brain waves resulting in feelings of stress, anxiety, and tension—not exactly a recipe for productivity.

So, Alex set out to create an all-natural tea designed to promote clarity and focus. CogniTea contains organic, fair-trade, natural ingredients including an amino acid extracted from Green Tea called L-Theanine that together have been shown to produce alpha brain waves which reduce stress, as well as improve alertness, focus, creative thinking, and cognitive performance. Milled, blended, and packaged in the United States, CogniTea has a light herbal mint flavor and undertones of green and black tea. According to our testers, CogniTea tastes as refreshing as the company motto: “I can, I will.” Now, the only question is, will you?

Great idea but, although I'm sure the ingredients justify the price, it is very expensive when compared to premium teas already on the market. Have you thought about offering a less costly sample pack with free shipping as I've just found you had done on Indiegogo? I know that I would be more interested in trying it before making more of an investment. Thanks!

@Michael Thanks for the note! Shipping smaller quantities ends up being a little cost prohibitive because you end up paying ~$2+ per bag. We will have to revisit this in the future but for now we are trying to help customers out by offering free shipping on these orders. Feel free to ask any other questions/share comments you have!

It would be nice to know what's actually in it - what types of tea for example, and where the "light herbal mint flavor" is from.

@Alexander have you looked at country mallow as a source of energy? It is very hard to find products that use country mallow and I understand it is quite expensive, but there use to be a product that I really loved that caused no jitterz or other nasty side-effects. I was very sad when that product was discontinued and never have found a suitable replacement. I will have to try your tea and see how it stacks up.

Doesn't green tea naturally have L-Theanine? And when combined with caffeine, as green tea has, improves accuracy and alertness and helps to increase focus while performing a task. I have read this about green tea. So how exactly does your tea provide different or better benefits. I ask because I am a big green tea drinker, with no jitters (like coffee does to me) but was intrigued when I saw your product.

And are you selling the coffee cups as well?

@Guest hello! No, right now we are only selling in tea bag forms but will be evaluating demand for k-cups and other delivery methods in the future!

    3/24/2014 3:31 PM

Would love to "try it" but really not willing to fork out $25 for 20 bags of tea I may or may not like. If a sample pack was offered I'd order one in a heartbeat.

@SHANNA I am sorry we are not offering a sample pack at this time. I wish there was something we could do to get you to try it! If it helps any, we just got this feedback in - "I LOVE this tea, and I do NOT like tea! Consider me a repeat customer." Either way, I am glad that CogniTea is of interest to you!

I haven't seen the words caffeine free anywhere, but Im assuming that this tea has no caffeine?

@Larry CogniTea is not caffeine free, in fact it has ~90 mg of caffeine. However, caffeine, when combined with L-Theanine has synergistic effects that promote Alpha brain waves better than either ingredient alone. That is why CogniTea is so special - we give you the same energy you would get from coffee or energy drinks without the negative side effects like the jittery feeling, crashing, and/or a headache!

Great idea, Alexander. I'm a big tea drinker and yerba mate is one of my favorites. I would love to try your tea, but as others have mentioned the cost is just way too high. I occasionally splurge on premium teas from a local tea shop, but even those are less than half the cost of your tea. If you're able to get the cost down, I'd certainly give it a try.

@Adelina Thanks for the comment! In order to get our costs down, we need to sell more so we can then in turn order more... it is a catch-22 :) Is there a friend or coworker who would want to split the order with you? I am glad CogniTea has peaked your interest!

@Barbi A The teabags themselves are not organic, but they are commonly used in organic teas (with USDA certification)
