Mama & Little

Silicone Teething Necklaces

Baby-Proof Beads

There’s no keeping a curious baby from your accessories—especially necklaces.

Mama & Little’s silicone teething necklaces are the best of both worlds: Baby-friendly statement pieces that are meant to be chewed.

With silicone beads in sophisticated colors and interesting geometric shapes, each necklace doubles as a toy (read:
distraction) for your baby. Little hands can grab, play, and bite down as much as they want, because the beads are made of safe, soft silicone.

Founder Arleene Taylor had to forgo wearing necklaces when her baby son always got his hands—and mouth—on them. She decided to make jewelry that was attractive and wearable for moms, whether they were around their babies or not. The pieces are multi-functional, which we think any woman can appreciate.

Just in case your baby really won’t let go, there’s a breakaway clasp. And when that necklace gets all drool-y, it can clean up in the dishwasher’s top rack.

Hello, everyone! I'm Arleene Taylor the founder and designer of Mama & Little. I'm so excited and proud to introduce Mama & Little to The Grommet! As a first time mom who wanted to keep her style with a teething baby, I designed an on-trend collection of modern silicone teething jewelry.

Cute idea but when I see beads, I think choking hazard. Is this a concern with these necklaces?

@Rebecca Hello, Rebecca! Thank you for your question. Our necklaces are intended and designed specifically to be safe for babies to chew while being worn by an adult. Each bead is securely strung on a very durable, smooth nylon cord, and several styles feature individually knotted beads through out. The silicone is very durable and can withstand chewing, the beads do not come off.

It's a great idea, but I had the same reaction. If it breaks, those little beads are in the baby's mouth.

@Desi Hello, Desi! Safety is our main priority, I focused on creating a safe product for my son that would give me piece of mind. Our jewelry is certified to be compliant with all applicable safety standards, it has been tested to assure that it meets or exceeds all current standards of the U.S. CPSC and is made with FDA-approved materials. Physical and mechanical safety testing is also done, one of these tests is a tension test to validate its strength and durability. Our safety breakaway clasp snaps apart if the necklaces is pulled with a certain force, avoiding any further tension on moms neck and on the necklace itself.

@Arleene Hi Arlene! I have a 7 year old niece that is a special needs child. She has different items to chew on, would this be something safe for her to wear? She loves being a girl and all dressed up!

@Susan Hi, Susan! Our necklaces are designed for adult wear only, not to be worn by babies or children. Adult supervision is required when in use. The unique flexible, smooth, and faceted textures of the silicone beads in our necklaces and bracelets make great sensory tools for kids of all ages and learning capabilities while being at mom's side! They love to play, bend and bite them as well as name and count the different colors and shapes. Our bracelets and bangles are a great option for a 7 year old to wear.

Can we get different colors than those pictured? Because I will buy a slew of them since they are way better priced than BuyBuy Baby and Babies-R-Us!
