DIY Mani

Getting a salon-quality manicure at home is easier than ever. This polishing and drying station has everything you need for a polish-perfect look in one efficient, effective design. All of your tools (cotton balls, polish remover, files, trimmers, etc.) and polish can be neatly organized inside, while the raised surface gives you the perfect spot to cut, file, and paint. After you’re polished, slide your fingers in the motion-activated dryer. There’s a fan option (for traditional polishes), but the real game changer is the UV LED light. It cures and dries gel polish. Usually a gel manicure is the salon’s domain, but this station puts any kind of mani you desire in your well-appointed hands.

    Hello Eric,

What a great idea as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I have only one question. Does it run on batteries or line power?

Looks like a great idea, but I would prefer an LED light instead of UV, given all the concerns about UV light. Any chance the Nail Station will be available with an LED light in the near future?

@KATHRYN It is an LED light, in the UV spectrum. Only UV light will cure gel nails.

  • Eric
    Eric – Special Guest
    8/18/2017 12:21 PM

@Robin While it is wide enough to accommodate most hands, you would have to dry your thumb separately due to the length and position of your thumb.

Such a great idea! But, Eric, as a man, have you ever dried your nails this way? Do you realize that just drying your thumb separately will double the time you need to sit in front of the machine? And, since you can't do both hands at the same time, like you would in a salon, you already have to spent twice as much time to do both hands at home. You need to rethink the design. Please make it wide enough to do the whole hand at the same time. Sorry, but close isn't good enough.

@Jeanie As someone with a 14 year old daughter I have been a guinea pig many times and had to dry my thumb separately. She however could dry her whole hand at once, so it depends on the size of your hand. (Tongue in cheek) Perhaps doing you nails while binge watching could help pass the time while drying your nails. I will pass on your comments and perhaps a deluxe version could be made available in the future. Overall the Nail Station has had great reviews and is great value.

Hi ... I have an old one and wondered if this is the latest technology. How hot do the bulbs get? Today one can dry their nails in 5 minutes ... mine takes 20 minutes.

  • Eric

    8/18/2017 1:19 PM

@Joannie Yes the LED based UV Technology is the latest technology and does not give off any heat. There are a lot of variables in terms of how long it will take; gel vs acrylic, humidity, how many coats and how thick you spread it on. Regardless, it will take a lot less time then 20 minutes.
