Blossom Trivet

Multifunctional Kitchen Tool

Bloomin’ Useful

You know how you just can’t stop playing with a Slinky? That’s how we feel about this kitchen gadget with Slinky-like qualities and chameleon-like properties. It’s called the Blossom.

Is it a trivet? A coaster? A hot mitt? Well, it’s all of these and more. You can scrunch the Blossom up to make a handy coaster or streeeeetch it
out to create a hot plate for a casserole dish, straight from the oven. Place one blossom inside another, or stack them on top of each other, and you have a colorful mat for a vase or centerpiece. Even when it stands alone, the Blossom makes a funky “flower” for your counter.

The Blossom is the latest gadget to debut from Spice Rachet Mills, an innovative kitchenware company led by Kelly Dyer in Alaska. It’s made from silicone, so it’s insulating and will protect your countertop and tabletops. It contracts for easy storage, so it won’t take up too much space. . . unless you need it to.

To Greg: the smallest width is 4" and the most stretched width can reach 30" due to silicon flex material character. Kelly

@Julie Northrop in Anch. AK: it is very easy to clean Blossom trivet. Wash with soapy water, rinse it, then let it air dry on kitchen counter top. Don't put into washing machine upper rack. The dish detergent will leave white residue on silicon trivet surface. Kelly

Just got mine in the mail! I've enjoyed playing with them and figuring out how to use them. I did notice that the trivets keep snapping back to their original blossom shape when I try to stretch them out into different shapes and sizes. From watching the promotional videos, I thought that the trivets would be easier to manipulate. Is that because my trivets are brand new, and I just need to play with them a bit more? Thanks!

@Andrea: The way it is now is how it will continue to be. Silicone becomes slightly less firm over time, but it is will never be as malleable as like clay and take any form. The Blossom is more like origami. You can bend and expand it in many many ways. The friction while on a surface (of a table top or bowl) is key to holding it in place. It can also stand upright when in a cylindrical or conical orientation. You can connect two together to make larger shapes. I suggest you keep playing with it to see all the formations and uses you can come up with.

I purchased some of these last Christmas. One was a gift and then one black and one green were for my own home, fitting colors in our dinette area. They are useful spread out or stacked back into a square, and I have enjoyed combining them as well as having both out for use at the same time. They are unique and make nice gifts for those who enjoy new items for their kitchen/dining areas.

@ Ruth thank you for your comments. First, the red is a deep red. (It looks almost "pink" on the site, but in reality it is a deep red.)

As for this Grommet not being made in the USA, I certainly understand. The five drivers in my family share three American made cars! We and our Grommet Partners would prefer to make all Grommets in America. However, at this time the US does not have all the available manufacturing capabilities in some technologies. We see progress being made every year, and I am sure that this partner will be watching carefully to pull production over to the USA when and if it becomes available.

It is important to note that over 80% of the purchase price for this Grommet will stay here in the USA, going directly to United States citizens living in America. Some money will go to the retailer (Daily Grommet in this case!) and we are all very grateful when you purchase the discoveries that we share with you. It's what keeps Daily Grommet going and our team employed.

Another piece of the revenue will go to our partner’s US team. And there are other American families who have jobs because of your purchase, such as the people working for the shipping company who will deliver the Grommet to your home.

So your purchase of this non-USA made Grommet does keep many USA folks employed. I'm waving my hand as one of the Americans who will stay employed by your purchases!!

Finally, we have a large assortment of Made in the USA products that you can check out at this link:

And of course, please let us know if you come across any great new products made in USA at this link:

Thank you for your business and for supporting over 1000 small companies whose products we are helping to launch to the world. Our team is always working tirelessly to discover companies that are worth your trust, and want you to have a flawless experience. We take it this work personally.
