Just look at that face - how could I resist. And so exquisitely made. Beautiful. And it is a musical instrument. Well done

Scary and Sweet

This item is scary, so don't gift it to children who could dream about it in a bad way. The use of this is good, but some of the faces are haunting!

These are beautifully hand crafted works of art. I’ve made it my go to Birthday present for all of my friends. Excellent quality and product came on time as well.More > < Less

Love this item

1/1/2019 by Cathleen

I have ordered three of the big eyes so far. One was for me and two for gifts. The recipients love them as much as I do. Just looking at the shaker's faces makes one happy. The quality of the item is great. The packaging was very good . I would recommend this item to any one who likes pottery, whimsical things or believes in positive energy. The story of the designer also adds to the experience.More > < Less

About Spirit Shakers

Melodius Magic

It’s hard to explain the appeal of these animated figures, which are filled with a mysterious (and melodious) substance. But they have a way of becoming just what you need them to be: a charming palm rattle, a calming influence when your mind is racing, or a source of good spirits when you need a lift.

The creator is Jon Baring-Gould, who makes these ceramic shakers by hand. Each one has a distinctly expressive face. With just a few deft impressions and cuts in the clay, Jon creates a personality for each palm-sized shaker.

An artist and educator, Jon has been making spirit shakers for about a decade. He was inspired by a spirit shaker made from a gourd that he received as a gift from a witch many years ago. If you’re feeling contemplative, want to make some tickling music, or want to encourage some happy thoughts, why not let Jon’s spirit shakers move you? They also make a great gift for someone who could use a bit of cheer or to celebrate any happy occasion.
